Does anyone else here pay from outside the US and Canada? I have always paid with a credit card, but the site no longer takes credit cards outside those two countries. I wrote to the administration (Fanwhatever) and asked about it. If I can't pay from overseas it means no one else can either and they would be losing a lot of people who are active on the site. Can't be right can it?

Anyone else having this problem?

Also, I keep having to prove I am not a robot 2-3 times when I log in - is that happening to everyone?

What the heck has been goin' on while I was away?

I'm Canadian but live in Ireland. Had the same problem and contacted admin. Got this:

"As part of integrating with the SportsHub payment system, we no longer
accept credit cards from outside of the U.S. and Canada. That's mainly due
to the new European GDPR law that went into effect, as we're not currently
compliant with it.

However, you would normally have the option to pay with Paypal, which should
work fine for those living overseas. Unfortunately, that option is
temporarily gone while we wait for Paypal to approve us."

I still have an account and card in Canada so was just able to use that. Otherwise you need a PayPal account.

Yeah, I have a Paypal acount, so I have to wait for them to have access to Paypal as an option. Soon I hope. Cause I only have one unused team saved up.

Anyway, while having to show we are not a robot - no I am not a robot, though if I ever am I hope I am like Data on Star Trek the Next Generation, but then, he was an android now that I think of it - I digress - having to do that is merely an annoyance. Mainly I cannot pay for teams anymore and have only one saved up. So I have to wait for the Paypal approval to go through, because my credit card won't work anymore on this site after 7 years...

Distributed Denial of Service.

It means somebody is attempting to clog the servers with requests from a variety of machines, at a variety of IP addresses, so the servers become functionally inaccessible. Basically like if you sent a bunch of people to stand in line at the bank and then just stand around making smalltalk with the tellers, so anybody that actually wanted to do business with the bank would be stuck in line and could never actually communicate with the bank or make a transaction. Think of the digital equivalent to that.

someone can buy you guys teams as gifts until it is fixed.....then you can reciprocate back later on.

Or, if you're not comfortable with that, you could always pay another user directly with PayPal (or any other money transfer app that crosses international boundaries relatively painlessly) to buy you teams and transfer them to you.

Thanks everyone. Not a bad strategy in the short term till they work out the PayPal thing. Now I know what both "D"s stand for in DDoS. We will get it worked out somehow.
