I'm so old I remember when Stanford were the Indians. I especially liked that when Plunkett was their QB.
These young students need to get a life, focus on getting an education, and stop acting like overly sensitive puffballs.
I don't know a single Native American who objects to using the nickname "warriors" for team nicknames.
Same with Braves. These are honorable terms. Words of RESPECT. You don't call a coward a warrior or a brave.
Same thing with Tigers or Lions. These names were chosen precisely BECAUSE they represent strength, honor, pride, fierce battleskills.
It's NOT offensive at all to anyone but a creampuff.
Colonial is not as inspiring as (say) warrior, BUT, I reckon it was chosen to represent the determination, grit, pluckyness of the Colonials.
Twisting it into representing "white supremacy" is just trying to inject dissension where none should exist.
