it is shocking how few people either know or appreciate dali...total guess but i think very few people under 35 heard of him and almost nobody unless you learned about him in a college course.
Surrealism, in general, doesn't get a lot of love from the art establishment. They'd rather spend an entire semester analyzing a single Rembrandt for meaning that isn't there.
ive been a surrealist from the first time someone gave me a toothpick.

ive been watching a ton of TCM movie lately including a lot of musicals.
musicals should come back...look at the success of almost every musical in last 10 years.
and esp they should bring back comedy / love story musicals.
michael buble could have quite a career in the movies..

I actually don't want musicals to make a comeback. I'd be too afraid they would end up being garbage like Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Mama Mia, or worse, Xanadu.

Some of my favorite (film) musicals...

Wizard of Oz
Sound of Music
Singin' in the Rain
Oklahoma (!)
Meet Me in St. Louis
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
An American in Paris
Cabaret

You hit the head on my concern. Standards music is what I would also want...not ABBA.

thereis obviously a place for standards still....dianah krall.....buble .....connick...tony bennett and babs all sell like hot cakes.
hollywood does not realize what they have that could be very popular.....i grew up with rock and yet still also loved sinatra etc stuff at the same time...it is all rock and roll to me.

go for it. I tend to lean toward Connery but I like a few movies by the other actors. The only one I can't stand is Timothyva Daltona.
