A few of Ankiel's throws from the outfield. Bo Jackson gunning down Harold Reynolds from the warning track. Jeter going into the 3B stands to catch a pop-up. Pudge Rodriguez or Yadi throwing out base stealers from their knees. Fernando Tatis hitting 2 grand slams in the same inning. A Willie Wilson inside the park home run. Ray Lankford running over catchers. Halladay vs Carpenter in 2011 playoffs. 2011 WS Game 6. Unless you're a Rangers fan...Nolan Ryan opening a can of whoopass on Robin Ventura. Earl Weaver arguing with any home plate umpire. Watching the mannerisms of Willie Stargell or Joe Morgan at bat. Watching Mike "the Human Rain Delay" Hargrove take an at bat. Al Hrabosky behind the mound. Morganna running onto the field.

Junior playing center field. Any number of plays by The Wizard. Brooks at 3rd. Mazeroski's 1960 WS home run. Joe Carter's homer to win '93 game 7. Jack Clark hitting a 1-iron off of Niedenfuer, Lasorda losing his mind...Piazza's home run after 9/11...

I've never made it to Cooperstown, and I suppose I foolishly assumed lots of great achievements were memorialized there. One hears of things being sent to the Hall of Fame, like jerseys and balls and bats from milestone moments and no-hitters and such. Is none of that on display?

It sort of depends on how one defines "Hall of Fame". The Hall of Fame is a great baseball museum as a whole that definitely displays a lot of this stuff, and does a fine job. Within the Hall is the actual "Hall" of Fame, though -- a single massive long room containing all of the plaques of the members of the Hall of Fame. There is generally speaking nothing else in this particular Hall, at least from my memories of the one time I was there (last summer). Everything that is sent to the Hall may or may not show up somewhere in the museum complex known as the "Hall of Fame", but having your memorabilia present in the museum somewhere (or your achievement denoted on the wall somewhere like in the records room) does not recognize you in the Hall itself.

I was going to say, Bo Jackson should be in the HOF, even with his short peak!
