If the pace doesn’t pick up we will go on the clock for the last half of this draft. Probably one round a day. No reason we shouldn’t be able to knock out a round a day.

We are opposed to a clock halfway through the draft.

This is a distinct advantage for teams drafting in the lower half of the rounds for the rest of the draft as they will have an opportunity to grab better players due to missed time slots while teams who have turned over to the top of the rounds will not.

For example we drafted 21,22,23,24 in the first four rounds and would have had an opportunity to improve our picks with a timer.

We agree that the draft is taking too long but this is not a fair solution.

That's a pretty weak argument. As long as you're not the one missing your pick, what does it matter who is selected after you?

Many drafts start off the clock and move on the clock. I've never once heard the argument "well if we were on the clock from the beginning, I might've gotten a better pick at some point because people ahead of me took too long."

3 weeks for 7.5 rounds. Almost 3 days a round. Yes we need to pick it up. Another option might be a 3 hour time limit. If they can't make it they should send their draft via a proxy.

And who is we????

And even though it's not always the same people, here we are again at 13 hours.

We do need a clock, we have been drafting off the clock for long enough. Everyone is well aware at this point that we have a draft going on when we are 8 rounds in. Don't miss your time slots and you won't miss out on a player

I like the idea of the three-hour time limit. Seems like a fair compromise - although I'm not against being on the clock either. I don't want to lose anyone, but we definitely need to do something to speed up the process.

And please be receptive to proxies from other owners.

3 hours seems fine to me. I can check every two hours if I'm at work and shouldn't miss out.

I'm not sure if everyone does this as common practice, but it's good to sitemail the next 3 owners up, not just the next one. That gets people ready to pick a spot or two down the line, too, and can really help move it along.
