I'll need to address my pitching at some point, but I can't pass up OF Amos Otis.
Yeah, I don't even have a SP yet...:|

We are switching our pick in the Giants round form Robbie Thompson to Ellis Burks. Since it was the last pick of the round it has no effect on any other owners and other teams have changed picks as well.
Not to be dramatic, but if this goes through, I will likely be leaving the league. Regardless of whether or not it impacts anything, this is a draft. Owners should not be allowed to go back and swap out their picks after the fact. And this wasn't even a case of a pick made in error (ie: a partial/combined season).

Part of this draft is developing a strategy, making a pick and adjusting on the fly down the line, if needed. Not going back and changing a pick to improve your roster. You've already made 4 picks since the Giants round. It gives you an advantage if you can go back and swap out players now.
I have to agree. Just because it was the last pick of the round doesn't make this permissible. It would basically be a free pass for anyone to change out their final pick later on when they want to change strategy. The structure of this draft is such that planning and adjusting are part of what you have to do.

Im not a fan of this... We shouldn't be able to go back and drop someone for any reason. The draft is the most important part of this league. Changing picks ruins the integrity of the entire process.

No offense, but I say no also.

That was back in round 4, we can't do that. The other two were during the same round and due to a clear case of drafting a combined season.

We passed "dramatic" about 25 posts ago. Hard to believe how much drama can be produced by a few guys playing a pretend baseball game online.

Please guys, I don't want to turn this into a ******* contest. Just relax and we'll get through it. Clearly we need to have a clock of some kind and I will decide that in the next day or so. There really is no other option to speed up a draft that I know of. I understand vilefilemans concern, but now that we have a base roster down, I don't think the benefit will be much at all for lower picks, if someone misses a pick. There is no perfect answer, but clearly the status-quo is not gonna work if we want to finish inside 4 months.
Agreed on all counts. Just a suggestion, but perhaps we finish this round and the next off the clock - then start the next round after that on the clock the following day. That would ensure everyone is aware and has had time to prepare.

Based on the current speed, I assume we'd be on the clock beginning Wednesday or Thursday. If we happen to get ahead of schedule, that's great.

Nebhusker started the league, so it's ultimately his decision and I'll do whatever he decides. Just offering my thoughts and hoping we can get this rolling a little faster.

It sure does get dramatic. Let's be good sports and follow the rules. And if I remember right Nebhusker said from the beginning it may go on the clock if we have excessive delays. Just relax. It's a game.

Yes, changing in later rounds would be a huge advantage as you didn't know who else you would draft back then. So I strongly agree, it's a NO.
5/6/2019 5:16 PM
I blame it on vindex24. There were no quarrels until he came back. JUST KIDDING.

My 2 cents
If we go on-the-clock somehow or whenever I will not stay. I specifically joined because NebHusker told me that it would be off-the-clock. And YES I asked him before I joined. I do not have access during the day to draft. That said, if it looks like my pick is going to occur when I won't be able to pick I have sent a proxy. So, the draft is going slow at times. What is the hurry? Is there a scheduled time that this league has to start by? If we are done drafting 6 days from now or 4 weeks from now does it really matter? If the league idea was posted in the classifieds and it didn't fill until June would you say, it's taking too long to fill, I'm not playing? Sorry guys, it's a game. Speed is irrelevant.

Honestly the only problem with these gaps between picks is it gives everyone too much time to start sniping at each other ...

Let's just be patient and recognize this is just a game and let it happen as it happens.

reminder...we're not talking about 6 or 8 hour gaps. 12 to 24 hours has been fairly common. I did not expect to invest over 2 months on t his and that is the pace. Like others have said, some of us are hitting refresh all day to see the draft progress.

If you are hitting refresh all day then you are being over-anxious.

Sorry, I don't get it. I think the Drafting is the best part of a league like this. I think playing the season is what drags.

I am used to drafts that move consistently. It's fun to check in and see the progress. It is courteous to find a way to check in least every 6 to 8 hours (worst case) if possible. I doubt many of us work 12 hour shifts and if we do we should send our proxy picks.
