Hell she laughed as her husband killed her brother. There are only three characters in the whole series that it would have shocked me if they turned out like this did....maybe 4 if you count Davos.

All those were deserved. If she had went straight for the tower and destroyed it, would make sense. But all the innocents...NO. Nothing in her character until now. STUPID. But enjoy. Not me.

A lot of things happened to her in the last 8 episodes or so....betrayals(some perceived, some real), spurned, counselors dying/murdered, a shock about the throne, "children" dying. It amazes me how many people have not understood what the Song of Ice and Fire is all about, how many think it's a fantasy fairy tale. Anyway, I wish we could sit down and have a beer and talk about it. I've changed a lot of minds about what happened and why, talking to people in person and in social media where everything is thrown out in the open. I'm already afraid I've dropped too many spoilers in a no spoiler thread.

One thing I'd bet on, this is exactly how Martin intended to end the series.

I agree. See this video. She locked up her dragons because they burned a child. She only used violence - though I agree she always has had a propensity for it - against those who combatted against her, or else who had oppressed others with violence. Never against innocents, or civilians.

rushed writing....they had the ending and had to get there quickly. I guess you can say lazy, but it's more just that they ran out of time to get the story finished.

Maybe they were lazy getting to map it out pre-season and then had to rush it. Still a beautifully shot episode but it falls short of being an all time great show unless the finale knocks it out of the park

HBO was willing to give them more time; they didn't want it. Apparently to spare us from additional mediocre TV.

Most of those actors have been at it for 10 years+, a lot of them were ready to call it a day.

I swear I could have written this.
