I got 140 AP available when recruiting starts on 26. I have a B+ prestige but only on DIV III and the Recruit is a 5 star.

Is this worth the gamble? or should i just stay away from this lucrative trap?

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
Feel free to unlock everything with AP's, but don't drop a single dollar of recruiting money on him during RS1. That will be money wasted.

If you're D3 and he's a 5-star, you have virtually no shot at him as many D1s will be all over him. Once a D1 goes very high with a scholarship on him, move on.

It's not worth the gamble.

In theory you could get him, in reality no.

With those preference matchups you might have a chance if you were at a B+ at D1 and you would likely have to go all in... otherwise any A+ D1 team would likely be all over him and you would be wasting resources on him.

it would probably take him all of RS1 to unlock a scholly going all in with how highly ranked this player is. Big waste of AP to even try.

That’s not right . 200-400 probably. Four cycles for sure at 140. The highest ap to unlock a scholarship I have ever seen is 2200

Ap is slower for division One than it is Division III youth players.

Even if his attributes are such that D1 humans pass on him (rare for 5-star, but not unthinkable), B level sims will probably jump in, and that level prestige will be extremely difficult for you to hold down. Find a better way to spend your AP.

faq's..
Q: I'm coaching in Division III, what are the odds of landing a DI type of player - maybe even someone that's ranked?
A: It is possible but not very likely. You cannot sign a player that is projected at a higher level during the first recruiting window. However, it is possible to sign in the second window depending on how much effort other schools have put into the recruit.

You know this game is completely FUBAR when there are posts asking if a D3 team can sign a 5 star recruit.

I never recruit starred players from D3.
5/24/2019 11:24 AM
You have no shot at a 5-star unless he's awful in which you wouldn't want him anyway.

I've signed a 1 star and a 2 star at d3. You need to look for low ath or def and get on them early. Also have to have good preferences. As soon as a d1 joins the party it's time to leave. I had a ton of AP and over $6000 in one of those guys and still needed luck at the end to hold off d1 guys.

Ok thank you for the inputs guys, i'll leave this recruit then and moved to my other division 1 prospects that are ranked on their position :)
