I'm very confused why the sim took out my Sandy Koufax after 68 pitches when i have it set to 130.

It was a 0-0 game in the 7th and Sparky PH for him. That happens, and has nothing to do with pitch count. You can reduce the likelihood of this happening by reducing your PH setting (under managerial style). And you can completely prevent it from happening by unchecking the PH box next to Koufax in the advanced settings. But in either case (and especially the latter) that means Koufax will often hit in situations when you might prefer a PH.

Thats a tough decision. He was pitching great and the bullpen blew the game.

Yup. Them's the breaks.

I mean...

The result of that pinch hitter being used was that you were able to strike first in the 7th inning of a scoreless game. Obviously everything after that can go any which way, but that's kind of exactly what you want to happen with your PHers.

Also, 130 is way too high a pitch count. He's absolutely shot when he gets that high. You're going to want to lower that number.

If your best pitcher gets pulled too early just give him an early next start. He's good for the same number of pitches no matter when he throws them.

I disagree. His IP/G is 7.78. Usually over the course of the season I like to use 15.5 pitches per inning. But I know some owners that use 16 pitches per. Using that 16 pitches per inning x IP/G Sandy Koufax can throw 124 per game before fatigue heavily plays in. So yes he is over, but by only 6 pitches

Definitely know that pain 7string. One of my many annoyances with this site. We need a 0 pull rating if because of the way they programmed Sparky. Once had a twist team where my pitchers were Marichal, Hunter, Tiant, and Tudor. So 310, 309, 274, and 260 IP/162. With all this SP I was lacking RPs but it should be fine since all my starters could go very deep. So naturally Sparky pulls all of them out 30,40, and sometimes 50 pitches before their MPC. Just because they’d give up a lead in the 6th or so. Once had Marichal throwing a no-no and his first hit given up was a game tying 2-run homer. So naturally Sparky pulls him for some trash pitcher, think it was like Jay Powell or something, at 70 pitches...of his 120 pitch count

yeah i just pitched him again to 133. He is set at 130 to 135. He is at 72 and ready to go again for the next game if needed.

i also put my pitches 10 to 15 higher for starters at the beginning of the season because my relievers usually get severely fatigued at the beginning of the year if not.
