Why play a game that's basis is in real life if all people really want to do is run statistical analysis and create algorithms? Go be an account. I like numbers, I like basketball. This game does pretty ok at doing both.

See.... what some of you don't get is there an actually a grey area in life somewhere between everything being mapped out 100% exact and players not even on the big board going EE. I think most of the people playing this game can agree there is room for improvement in between without making ridiculous statements like you and trenton.

Mully, I agree with you that there is always room for improvement. I just don’t think EEs are a big deal.

I also dont complain plain three times a week and try to pretend it’s something other than complaining.

I would be ok with moving the big board down to #125. But based on the resentment this thread feeds on, I suspect the core problem - people being upset that they lose #108 on the big board, while some other team gets to keep #6 - will stick.

I would be more ok with making likeliness to go pro a scoutable player preference - this is what I’ve been advocating since the beginning, with an academic vs pro-ball preference. I don’t think it should ever be absolute, and I would not change the probability parameters; but for those folks who have trouble telling the difference between a player who might leave early and a player who won’t, I guess we can throw them a bone.

EE is bad… badly designed, bad for the game cause it's more luck or knowing what stats make your player go, what stats let your player stay… Sometimes EE hit so hard you can't compete for one or two seasons… It happened when I was in Clemson twice, it just happened at Stanford. You make up for it, but it is still stupid. You can't recruit anything once you get hit by a EE problem, even if you prepare cause it's already tough filling all your scholarships with talented players.
If you don’t want to play a game where the coach doesn’t get to decide when a player leaves early, and replacing the ones who do is a headache, you don’t want to play a simulation of D1 college basketball.

Lucky for you, there are (absurdly) two lower levels in this very game where you don’t have to worry about early entries at all.

Tark was especially wacky this season.

#4, #5 and #6 all stayed while #86, #93 and a Soph not on big board all went.

i only see #5 stayed, at a mid major, while 4/6 left and 3/7 also left (the big board has been changing after its supposed to be locked, at least for 1 of my players, which i cannot recall seeing. maybe an exact tie or something. but it made me want to check 3/7 to see if the 4/6 guys had decided to move spots).

i could be mistaken though, who are the 3 you are seeing that high up who stayed? i only see marsden

ah you are right, 4 had a diff guy leave whose name is really not all that similar but who i somehow confused with the guy nonetheless (their last names both start with c?).

still, 2 of the top 5, both juniors, deciding to stay is pretty crazy. i guess it will happen sometimes even though the odds are way less. sadly my guy was #7 and just missed out on the sweet spot, apparently :)
