I'd go to the other side of town and hire Bobby Valentine. Just so I could have my manager get ejected from a game and come back to the dugout in disguise.

Earl Weaver. Loved walks and platoons and hated giving away outs.

Connie Mack. Would be cool to see a manager wearing a three piece suit in the dugout (especially on a hot and humid day game in Chicago....that goes extra innings)

My choice too. One of the first managers to use numbers instead of conventional wisdom. Didn't get credit for being a thinker because he was feisty.

i liked jim palmer when he was playing and dobson mcnally cuellar and the orioles in general back then because they were so good defensively

i heard him in the booth years later saying how dumb the extra base hit defense was. he wanted the next hit prevented and guarding the lines did not improve his chances
