Wooden DI had these two players spawned within 150 miles from one another, and incredibly both players were signed by the closest school (Minnesota and Illinois respectively) without any other human offers. Here they are:

Michael Williams (1 SF, 1 Overall)
Weakness: (May be a 1 and done)
98 Ath
74 Sp
90 Reb
100 de
100 sb
90 lp
100 per
88 bh
91 pa
92+ sta

Luke Hanson (24 overall,4 SG)
Weaknesses: (possibly relatively low reb/sb, lowish sta, low(er) starting ratings)
91 ath
96 sp
52+ reb
100 de
42+ sb
99 lp
100 per
93 bh
89 pa
80 sta

Two of the best players I've seen generated in a while. Hopefully, they don't go EE too soon

Williams is so preposterously good that I assume something's broken in the recruit generation engine.

To be fair, the listed attributes are if they reach their full potential. Williams starting attributes are:

93 Ath
69 Sp
77 Reb
89 de
70 sb
85 lp
77 per
64 bh
86 pa
64 sta

Thanks, yes, that's completely different.

As someone who will have to play against Williams, I hope he backs out of his LOI for Minnesota and jumps right to the NBA.

Insane no one challenged you on Hanson, who wants rebuild. Perfect opportunity for a nearby mid major or big 6 bottom-dweller to get a program changer. A lot of folks just aren’t trying very hard, apparently.

I've noticed that too. A few seasons ago -- I don't remember which world -- the top recruit had just Sims on for two cycles. In those cases, I think everyone assumes these recruits are going to be loaded with coaches so they don't even try initially.

I also think I've earned the reputation that I fight for death in guys in my home state. It's a long term strat that has hurt me in the past, but save for one guy I have either gone all in on or signed every Illinois guy I've wanted for 10 years.

We need to get seble to have Williams stay 4 years to see what mrslam can do with him haha. On my end, I think Hanson could average 25 ppg w greater than 1 Point per possession in his unlikely (read impossible) senior year.

On a separate note, before everyone here quits the game they need to sign at least one guy with 280-300 ath + per + lp; its absolutely preposterous. Hanson has crazy BH,PA,SP to go with it while Williams literally has everything but crazy speed. Imagine having a player whos biggest weakness by far is being a 75 speed SF. In a normal year Hanson would be by far the gem of the whole class but he is absolutely put to shame this year.

Also, Williams is probably going to be the 1st player I've ever seen who would be the best PG,SG,SF,PF, and C in the country at once. If he doesn't go one and done.

I support this plan. I'll get the petition ready haha.

It's very unlikely he will be 1 and done. Out of the 104 FR listed on the big board that I've tracked, only 6 went early.

There are reasons people sometimes don’t want to fight to the death for the top guys. As we see here, these guys are often pretty obviously going to be at high risk of leaving after a couple seasons (possibly fewer), and a lot of players are going to prefer to save their resources for fights over 3-4 year players instead. But when they’re going unchallenged, that should signal to coaches that they are abdicating a lot of power to the top. An elite guy still has a ton of value, even if he leaves after 2 seasons, and even if it’s a headache to replace.

This is why it’s a good idea to comb through the top recruits every few cycles, or color code them to watch how battles play out. Some of these guys get taken every season for peanuts, because not many are really challenging for them.

I've got that too.

everyone needs to sign at least one guy with 280-300 ath + per + lp, so they can see how overrated they are!

the problem with these guys is that they just aren't any better offensively than strong scorers who don't have such high lp + per, and in many cases, are objectively worse (comparing them in their same season - not even factoring in EEs). you end up over paying for offense that often isn't even elite, either they leave super early because their ratings are so lofty, or they suck on D/reb/etc. relative to other players who would rank similarly on the EE board.
