The strategies thread (both writing and reading) is my favorite aspect of this tournament.
I'll be posting the thread once most of the roster checking is done, late next week
Based on your track record, you could probably rent yourself out as a consultant (kinda like those get-into-college consultants) for other players....

Gotta leverage what you do well...

I'm so champing at the bit to read everyone's strategies that I just read last year's even though I didn't participate last year.

Can you post the link to the last year strategy thread?

Go to the forum and click on entries for one year and you'll see last year's tournament threads.

My favorite of all-time: jbohrman's 2016 WISC round 2 write up for the $120M:

How did that team do?

If the standings are correct for 2016, he won 89 games with that team.

I think jbohrman's plea in that post to the gods was answered as ozomatli who nominated Brickyard Kennedy ended up winning only 66 games in that theme which is probably his worst team performance ever in the WISC.

I was so confident with that one and got thoroughly schooled. To date, my worst WISC team, even counting 2006 (when I was a teenager). I blame jbohrman's black magic

I think this has already been asked, but for the $90 million cap, does our ballpark have to be listed as belonging to the appropriate team in the WIS database?

It's the last day anyway, so I'll just be specific. My roster is currently designed with my $9M+ pitcher being Claude Hendrix (1914 Whales). WIS doesn't list a park for this Federal League franchise, but they were actually the first team to play in Weeghman Park (Wrigley Field). My batter's park isn't in the database at all. Can I put the team in Weeghman Park, or do I need to change one of my keystone players?

The whole Lajoie thing still tweaks me too.

Yeah, Weeghman is fine since it was the actual park

I have been checking rosters pretty regularly, but today was the first day I did a thorough check of ballparks...found a LOT of mistakes in the 3 themes where park choice is limited.

$110M: 3x Franchise
Pick a player who has WIS eligible seasons from at least 3 franchises (franchises defined by BBR.com). You must use 3 versions of your chosen player. Each version must come from a different franchise and cost at least 1M.

Complete your roster with players from the 3 franchises (any season, but no twisting to other franchises).

Other Specifics
Seasons: All
DH: No
WW: No
AAA: No
Trades: No
Clones: No, except for your chosen player
Injuries: Turned On
Multi-team players: Cannot use combined seasons for chosen player. Other 22 players have no restrictions
Ballpark: Must use a park that one of your 3 franchises used while your chosen player played for them
300K Exception: No
Team Name: Include your chosen player
Division Alignment: Random
I had not been paying close attention to the "no combined seasons for clones" rule. Just found one in my league.
