I used to be very confused (maybe still am) on what Duncan season is best. I think it is kinda obvious that it is 06-07 now. What do you all think?
That's who I'd have taken and the season used if I kept the pick.

What do people think about 18-19 Harden? In a vacuum I think that season merits a top 15-18 pick because of how insane the usage/efficiency/threes combo is. Turnovers are obviously high, but honestly not that crazy given his usage level. The problem I have is: what the heck do you do for the 1100 minutes Harden sits? I can't possibly see how to find backups for him that aren't super inefficient, much lower usage, or both. I
Except for extremely restrictive themes, I would have low confidence in building a pretty powerful team with one player soaking up so much usage.

I was actually planning on drafting him hoping to get a certain trio together that I think could work. I don't want to get to specific as to give the man who drafted him any tips

I love how no matter who I paired with who, SOMEONE would have a problem with it lol. Now pretty much no matter WHO I pick in round four, I'm sure there will be detractors. Haters love to hate haha. I'm enjoying the idea of who will be left when I am up again, and I know the SIM about as much as I know women. I'm just gonna have fun with this team, so go ahead and rip away!
Ha - you definitely should not care what I, or anyone else, thinks about the trade or the picks. But the whole point of this thread is to give our opinions on the draft. It's no fun if everyone just says they like everyone else's picks ;)

For what it's worth, I gave no thought about amerk having the 5 & 9 pick UNTIL he selected Rodman - I was fully expecting the league to chastise me for the trade - 1 owner having the #1 & #2 rebounders - both offensive and defensive - certainly covers up other deficiencies.

Frankly, before the trade I was contemplating either Malone or Rodman - never thinking someone would end up with both. Seeing that the likes of Frazier and Oscar fell to the 5th rd

We'll see how this plays out - if I'm a betting man I wouldn't bet against amerk

Penn - you should delete the references to undrafted players in your post.

ok - I get it - mentioning undrafted players will have a "voodoo effect" - right? I mean, after all, who would think mentioning an undrafted player would compel the next man up to draft the "mentioned undrafted player". Or, maybe, by not mentioning the undrafted player, that same undrafted player will go undrafted.

That said, I certainly see how not mentioning an undrafted player could wreak havoc on the unsuspecting; or, should I say, I can see how mentioning an undrafted player could "influence" someone to do that which they otherwise would not have done.

If I'm not mistaken the 1st round was chalk to last 52 draft. Not sequence of picks obviously, but first 24 from last time are all gone.

Brother penn, it's either an ironclad rule or commonly accepted standard practice in every WIS draft league I've ever participated in to not mention undrafted players while the draft is underway. It may seem like a silly custom, but even experienced owners do overlook useful players...I suppose mainly by assuming that they've already been taken, and so the players in question continue to fall. I'm quite certain this phenomenon contributed at least partly to the two players you mentioned falling as far as they did in the last draft. You strike me as a fellow with a certain measure of respect for order and tradition, so I hereby appeal to those considerations.

This is true. I seriously doubt the second round will play out the same way.

Not a big deal, just the way we've always done it.

Crazy that the first round went the exact same 24 guys. I didn't realize that. I wish I did something different just to mess it up ;)

Anyway, Stockton and McHale for me. I can't remember the last time I used Stockton, if I ever have. I tend to be more of an assists-by-committee drafter than one who drafts a PG with a ton, so this will be a different experience. One that will certainly put to the test my assertion earlier in the thread that rebounding is overrated; with Stockton at PG and McHale at PF, I'll struggle to put together even an average rebounding team. But on the flip side, my first round picks combine for 50% ast, have defensive ratings of 80 and 90, and both have an efg% over 60%; not bad for picking 24th.

I put the O/U at players moving up to the 2nd round at 6.5. McHale and Green are gone already so that's 6.5 of the next 22. I think I would go under.... but it's close.

I have 7 locks left in the 2nd round. probably a few i would call "predictable" beyond those 7, but makes me consider future draft placement strategy if there's 9 or so locks in the 2nd round. Also, curious to hear others' thoughts on 1st round locks. I think there are 16, but certainly worthy of debate:

Wilt
LeBron
Curry
Rodman
Freak
Kareem
Jordan
Shaq
Karl Malone
Howard
CP
Robinson
KD
Bird
Moses
Barkley
