I questioned the release of the 2 players also. Not knowing how it would be handled, I drafted Phillips on the basis that he may or may not be a valid pick. Was willing to take that risk rather than pass on him completely and leave him for another owner.

What's the deal with you guys with the last pick in each round taking all night to make your pick? You know my feelings about how picking last in a round shouldn't be an advantage right? The rest of us get a half hour, the final pick in each round (fist pick in the next round) shouldn't get six hours or more!

Well, at this point I guess there is nothing I can do about pexetera's return and subsequent re-selecting. That is not how I think it should be handled, and I don't know how smokey would have handled that, but here is my problem with it:

Wehn someone is AWOL on a draft and picks HAVE been made for him, that owner should accept those picks OR sit out and let whoever made those picks have the team. In this case, pex made two OTHER picks. Now, I was at work all day and had already sent a proxy list that did NOT have Larry Jones or Andrew Philip on it. Now, what if seven or eight or ten other owners were in the same situation. NONE of those guys would have a chance at Jones or Philip. If I had known pex would show up and make two new picks, I would DEFINITELY had Philip in particular on the top of my proxy list.

I am NOT saying we have to go back and start at todays round and do it over or anything. Obviously, the cat is long out of the bag, so evewrything stands as is, but from now on in any of my leagues, when picks are posted, THEY ARE FINAL, NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES!!! Take 'em or leave 'em.

Historically i have allowed an awol owner the choice of keeping the players picked for them or taking available players at the point of they're return. Feeling that the penalty is paid in the quality of the later round pool. The players pick in their absence are more in case they don't return, we don't end up with a team nobody wants to take over. That said it's amerk league and call. I as either approach correct, it should be made know mention in the main post rules.

Maybe something like after 2 consecutive missed picks the commissioner, or an assignee, will make proxy picks that are final for the missing ownerl

I was honestly not aware of your position wrt this matter, I will pick promptly in the future.
