Meet my wife at a party. Went there with a couple of friends. She was with a guy who was acting like a real douche. When he left her to go take a leak. I went over to her and said "Your much to good to be getting treated like this. Come with me and lets go have fun. She did, left the guy there wondering what happened. Been married for 19 years. Pizza is my favorite food, has all four food groups. Best is Bazbeaux in Indianapolis. Loved those rectangle shaped pieces of pizza we got in grade school.

Years ago, my then-girlfriend and I drove down to Owensboro, Kentucky to spend a long weekend with some friends of hers. They were a pretty religious family, so my girlfriend slept in the guest bedroom inside the house and I slept in the outdoor bedroom by the pool. It was so awesome. A nice big bed, windows all around me, and thick woods beyond the windows. It was very secluded and peaceful.

It's been almost ten years since, and I'm no longer with that girlfriend, but I still think about that room sometimes. It was some of the best sleeping I've ever had. I fell asleep to the sound of the breeze through the trees and woke up to birds chirping.

This has to be the best thread EVER on here. I think it's great to learn about you guys away from the HD landscape. Sometimes I want to check the Forums BEFORE doing my team rundown just to make sure this thread is alive. But hey...I gotta do that rundown first.
I'm big into music. I can't play an instrument but love immersing myself in as much music as possible. Right now I'm listening to a lot from a band called Zero Theorem. In the past few weeks two singers who were a huge part of my youth have passed...Eddie Money and Ric Ocasek of The Cars. Ric's passing struck me really hard, as it seems the music of his band was pretty much a soundtrack of my childhood. I can remember their tunes playing on the radio all the time. And Eddie? Who DIDN'T have a school dance or Homecoming or Prom with the "Two Tickets to Paradise" theme? AHH..the days of my youth.
Even though it's been over two decades, I still may not be allowed in Elyria Ohio or on Kelleys Island located on Lake Erie due to a beer-fueled rampage I went on trying to track down the guy my first wife was seeing on the side. Yeah, I was married was before, lol. I was someone else back then.

I'm a 68 year old, computer illiterate, partially disabled Viet Nam veteran, country preacher, grandfather of 8. I love my wife, I don't drink, beer, and I've done no time in jail: but I do enjoy playing this game, competing with you young, high tech, coaches! God bless you all!

First, I'm glad you didn't end up retiring. And I hope your heath has been good the last couple years. This game is better with guys like you in it.

Tom Petty's death was the one that hit me hardest. I had a friend who was visiting Los Angeles when Petty did his last show at the Hollywood Bowl. She was there, not too many rows back. I was jealous of her in the moment, I'll be forever jealous of her. Stephen King turned 72 the other day. I'm already dreading the morning I wake up to the news of his death. He's my favorite writer, and it's not even close.

I looked up Zero Theorem. I didn't think I would like music that hit that hard. But I did. Good recommendation.

Tom Petty is my wife's favorite. Seriously, the guy was a National treasure. So much talent....it's hard to even pick a favorite song because they're all great. The first song I heard from Theorem was "Becoming" and after that I dug deeper.
I love this game. And community of Coaches. I won't win a National Championship but it's still fun recruiting and game planning after 10 years.
And my health is awesome, thanks for thinking about me. I'm back to playing basketball and chasing around the son and his dog, lol.

Springsteen turned 70 yesterday.

I are a piece of cake today that was about the size of my head.

What's the best thing about where you currently live? Or what's the worst thing?

I met my future wife in our first year in college. She was dating a guy from high school who went to college 450 miles away. I opened with a brilliant rhetorical question: if he loved her that much, why did he go to college 450 miles away? Then I asked her out every 20 minutes for about three days straight (like the Simpson kids in the car saying "Are we there yet?" over and over again, except the question was "Will you go out with me?"). So it was either date me or file for a restraining order. I knew once I got my foot in the door my sheer animal magnetism would be unstoppable. We saw a movie on campus, then went to Camellia Grill (a New Orleans landmark) for a late meal. We graduated from college on a Monday and got married that Friday; 34 years and counting now. We have always encouraged each other to be our best selves, while laughing as much as humanly possible. :)

As far as learning about one another on here, i feel like I've never met a single person in this game that is anywhere close to my lifestyle/upbringing/culture, and to be honest I'm surprised. I feel like I'm the only coach here that plays this more for my interest in basketball, than numbers crunching. I'm less of a role model citizen than most of you, i don't have a bachelor's or master's and I'm not an engineer. I like hip hop music and some of the language spoken here is out of my league. And the thing i wonder most, and I've been dying to ask this, but I've never found the right time.... are there any black coaches out there besides me????
