I'm guessing maybe not everyone realizes this...but sometime in the last year there has been a glitch with sitemails.

There is a nice feature (well, it used to be a nice feature) available to league commissioners. On the home page of the league, up at the top, right under the theme description, there are a set of tools, some of which are only available to commissioners. One of them is "sitemail league owners." This is very convenient because you can send one message to everyone, and you don't have to keep track of everyone's user names and manually enter them, or worry about typos, etc.

However, and this is the point of my post, sitemails sent that way do not trigger any alerts to the recipients. Sitemails sent the normal way provide two alerts:
1.) A tag appears next to the little bell in the main menu bar - alerting you that you have unopened sitemails.
2.) Provided you have activated the feature, WIS also sends you an email alerting you to the sitemail.

Importantly, NEITHER OF THESE THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU USE THE "sitemail league owners" FEATURE.

Meaning unless an owner manually goes into sitemail and checks, he will never see it. Worse, as there is NO indication that an unopened sitemail exists, he has NO REASON TO CHECK. If you are wondering why owners are not responding to you, this is the most likely reason.

I strongly recommend NOT USING THIS FEATURE.

I rarely use the "sitemail league owners" link and it's typically only after a season ends to share info about the ensuing season details, but this is good info to have for those it may impact more directly. Thanks.

Not only is the above all true for me, but I also stopped getting emails for any of my league alerts period. I used to get one every time a league was formed and starting, after a season concluded, if I was seeded in a TOC, if I advanced in the playoffs, etc.

I never get any of them anymore.

That is definitely odd...I still get all of the regular emails.

I've checked spam filters and everything. I never changed a setting.

They. Just. Stopped.

I sent a note to have this looked at

response - It sounds like he's echoing what I'm saying, that the messages are sent, but no alert is shown in the header. That is a known issue.

This issue has been around for a while now.

At this point, I only use this feature when I'm commishing a league and want to let everyone know about early signups for next season.

Then a couple days later I'll check my sitemails sent page to see who hasn't opened their sitemail. Typically it's about 8-12 owners, and I'll then send them individual sitemails to make sure they see the notification alert.

It's a hassle, though, and I wish they'd fix it.

I'm starting to get emails when I have sitemails again. I didn't change anything at all. Hopefully it's a fix they made?
