Wow, a run on starting pitchers linked to Johnny Evers. I guess I'm glad I got on the front end of that run. Although it means those guys are picking ahead of me.
I also agonized over my Ed Reulbach pick. I had two other players typed in (including Gehrig) and was all ready to hit submit, then changed my mind. It's easy to simply take the best player available, but then you start analyzing the risk/reward and the opportunity cost, and you start second guessing yourself.
After doing all the research, I am dumbfounded at why certain players were nominated - guys that don't have good teammates and also aren't worthy of being blacklisted - just wasted picks. Most people will simply pick a teammate from those guys in the last few rounds.
I'm a main culprit here. I rushed my pick, didn't read the rules properly and didn't look at previous players chosen. After I caught myself up I quickly realized my Stuffy McCinnis pick is horrible and useless. Someone like Rickey Henderson or a guy from the good 70's teams would have at least brought in some fun options. Apologies.
