Yeah. I'd say so. Peterson projects to be a better player then Rosado but both are going to be very good at what they do and have few flaws. This is one where I say 'Team A clearly needs a pitcher. Team B needs a big bat. I wouldn't make the trade but I see why they made it.'

The difference IMO is that while Rosado's ceiling is a 1 or 1A that will make a few all star games and make a few Cy Young ballots on a good team........ wait, sorry scratch that. Noticed Rosado was drafted when he was 18. Yup. Fair trade. Both players are studs.

I disagree a little bit... or more correctly, I agree with what I think hockey was going to say first. Rosado projects as an SP2-3 for a championship team, and Petterson is a Hall of Fame caliber RF, or nearly so. The premium on SP is so high that I wouldn't veto this trade, but I'd think about it... Petterson is better, son.

not being able to see potential, I'd say it's fair enough not to veto

Def wouldn't veto, but curious to see what a reasonable growth for a 2 year player out of HS vs 2 Year player out of college .

For some reason can't quote two posts but my thoughts were along the lines of McGirk. I think Rosado should gain about 6 ish more points where as Peterson may gain ........4? If I had to guess Rosado will be 75 in control, a hair below 70 VsL probably 88 VsR with 3 pitches in the high 70's. That third pitch will only be about 55 which sucks.

Peterson may hit 80 in contact and power, but he might not. The rest of the ratings are just gravy.

@dedelman, you're probably right, Petterson is probably a tier higher then Rosado but I usually value pitching a little higher on my teams as I build from the rotation with defense out and then usually build small ball. That being said, I'd be happy with either of these guys and probably wouldn't trade either of them if I had them.

Imo, its about as fair as you can get. I also don't see hall of fame in either one. Good players though.

If the 5th pitch is a 50plus pitch - does this help at all?
