the folks saying i didn't account for a division multiplier are right. i kinda lead with that - the assumption that prestige works like it did in the olden days - which apparently is wrong (not that i can speak from personal experience). that said, the only reason such a thing would even be necessary is because the d2 vs d3 difference was so small in the first place (it was primarily budget that caused the difference in old HD, not raw value of effort). that 10% is more of a ceiling than a floor in terms of the old game.
what it is today, i couldn't really guess, having played 0 seasons of that - but i'm not surprised team B was high, putting them in the 60-80% range. even if you bump that 30% to 50%, you still get a decent lead for B. i really don't have a good handle on AP vs visits nor the % advantage on value translation to % advantage in winning, those are the two things i would be trying to figure out if i was trying to figure out 3.0 recruiting.
based on some broad strokes, AP are worth a good bit more than the impression i got from the forums, which is probably why a lot of folks are picking team A here instead of (the correct) team B.
