EDIT: The spreadsheet has been updated to start the Division Alignment Draft. As a reminder, the top 4 teams in point standings (1 point for every win you achieve with the roster you have and 1 point for every loss the roster you created inflicts on its manager) will make the playoffs (because this is a 16 team league) regardless of conference. However, which teams you play will probably have a big impact on the number of wins you get.

Roster Draft: The draft order will be determined randomly. Each owner has a choice: they can assign someone to manage their roster, they can choose to manage another owner's roster, or they can assign an owner other than him or herself to manage another designated owner's roster (e.g. I assign ozomatli to manage brianjw's roster).

Divison alignment Draft: (Takes place after the Roster Draft is complete) The four owners drafting last in the Roster Draft will each be placed into their own divisions, and get to determine the rest of the division alignment through a three round serpentine draft (1-4, 4-1, and 1-4). The last pick in the roster draft will get the first pick in R1, the second to last pick in the roster draft will get the second pick in R1, and so on. In each round, an owner can choose to put someone in their own division, or into someone else's division, but only one owner can be added to a division in any given round. The owners with the first two picks in the Division alignment draft will be in the NL and the other two will be in the AL.

Disco Dogs:

I've sent you a sitemail regarding Barracudas roster.

Keep in mind, a player only has to have ratings at a position to be eligible to be counted towards the PA available at a position.

For example, take 1901 Tom Leahy who is on one of those rosters. His main position is C, so that's what he shows up as on the spreadsheet.

However, he also plays 2B, SS and OF which means he could be counted as PA towards those other positions (up to his WIS PA - he doesn't get to simultaneously count as PA towards all positions) if the team already has sufficient PA at C.

Hopefully, this helps clear up your confusion.

Hmm maybe I see now...guess I totally misunderstood that line in the rules, I’ll erase all those posts, thx for clearing things up.

The Division Alignment Draft will begin once the Roster Draft has ended. vilefileman, schwarze, justinlee_24 and Jtspops are the participants in that draft. vilefileman will have the first pick there.

I will create the league once I have selected my roster and everyone will be able to enter their teams at that time (no need to wait for the Division Alignment Draft to finish).

Go and open the spreadsheet again. Look at the bottom (there will be a bunch of tabs, each containing one roster). There should be 16 tabs in total (use the arrows at the bottom to scroll through the tabs).

Once an owner has someone else's roster assigned to them, am I right they no longer have the chance to pick a different roster to manage? Essentially, that part of the choice is taken away from you, right? And you'd have to just assign a roster to someone else at your turn?

This is correct. However, if Owner A assigns a roster to Owner B, Owner A will also get assigned a roster (since he/she did not use his or her pick to pick a roster).

Ok, generally, everyone did a good job of putting together rosters that will be tough to win with. Some teams have hitting but horrific pitching, and others have pitching but may never score a run.

After debating the pros and cons repeatedly, I've decided to go right up the middle with a team that I believe is mediocre on both sides but not horrible on either.

I'll take fatguyrd's roster.

I'll take je3rd's roster which actually seems pretty good. Good defense, balanced rotation and bullpen.

It looks like ppl had the same idea to draft catchers out of position but this is not one of those rosters.
