I don’t remember, how do I get the pop up to come up for my team that lets me see the box score first before seeing my world page?

Management console, near the bottom

To me if you are routinely able to get good ml players in the rule 5 then the league is very weak. Good owners do not let ml players slip through the cracks often. I could see a def ss or def catcher once in while but it should be rare unless the world is weak in my opinion.

Overall I agree but
A) taking over for a new team there are almost always options better then the chaff the previous owner left behind
B ) sometimes something happens, an owner forgets to 40 man their guy, they forget one of their guys in their 5th pro year was a DiTR, etc. It’s always worth a quick look and rank.

I agree it would be dumb to not look. People do fall through the cracks and are evaluated differently. I just think that if you are routinely getting ml quality players in the rule 5 then the world has an issue. Once is a while is not to uncommon. But knowing I would be picking after at least 20 teams Id find it hard to believe someone got ml quality at those picks routinely if the world is good. New team takeover is different.

That's the other thing as well. New team takeover (thank god) also = picking second and the person picking first was a buddy of mine who F'ed up. After this season I probably won't give more then 5 minutes into rule 5. But for this season it might help me get another 4-8 wins.

Along the same lines I see veteran owners with 50+ seasons of experience going 4, or more rounds deep in the Rule 5. Why? Isn’t it just a waste of around $270k a pop to take guys their original teams wom’t take back and will never develop into ML players sitting on your roster for a year?

Alexander R5 draft just went 9 rounds deep with two owners taking at least 7 players.

Lots of seasons does not mean you know what you are doing lol. Just like zero seasons does not mean you do not.

Yeah I see some guys who just grab whatever they have room for. I usually always have one or two players I consider wasted DiTRs, and they always get picked because I know some owners believe you always take available DiTRs.

Speaking of Rule 5... if I accept a player on a Rule 5 Offer Back, it means he's already passed all the way through waivers, right? So if I take him back, can I assign him back to his original level? And the only hit I take is the return fee, plus he makes $327k?

Answered my own questions, Yes to all.

I know for a fact this question has been asked before, but can't seem to dig up the answer...how many HBD days are there between Game #162 of one season and Opening Day of the next one? IWO, when you get the message that "Player X is progressing, but still injured" at the end of the regular season, I know there is a way to calculate exactly when he'll be healthy again and just can't remember the exact numbers. To figure out if Player X would be healthy on the next Opening Day, you would need to know:
  • # of days in the post-season
  • # of days that "pass" when a season rolls over
  • # of days from rollover to Opening Day in a new season
Obviously, if the number of days remaining on his injury is larger than the total of those three combined, he'll still be sidelined on Opening Day. If it's below that you can count on him being good to go...but does anyone remember/know what those numbers are?

Been playing this long enough that I now enjoy reading the "e-mails" from my "scouts" about IFAs... and learning to interpret them.

This kid is an "offensive catcher" means he's a DH.

A "speedy rightfielder" is a 1B who can't hit.

A "defensive 2B" is a really slow CF... who can't hit.

And "well-rounded"... you get the idea.

I promoted 5 AAA guys to my ML roster after rosters expanded just to fill in. I lost in the playoffs, do I need to demote these guys back to AAA? My ML roster now says 30/25. What happens if I don't demote them to AAA?
