How far apart is the second injury recovery bump from the first one during a 60-day recovery schedule?
If it is a typical mid-season injury, my experience is that the first bump comes within one [in-game] cycle left in his injury recovery. If you put him on IR for sixty days, the second injury recovery bump does not always come, but if it does, it usually comes 3-4 real life days (9-12 in game cycles) before he is eligible to be activated from the DL.

In order to receive the subsequent injury recovery bump from a stay on the 60 day DL, the original injury typically needs to be between 1-30 days. There might be some wiggle room there, but that is what I have read.

If it is a season over season injury, the injury recovery bumps seem to come every 30 cycles (ten real life days).

If it is an injury that occurred near the end of the season, you will have to wait until the 2nd to the last day of the regular season. If there is no bump there, there will be no bump at all.
Does a player need to be transferred from the 15 day DL to 60 day DL to experience the second injury recovery bump?
(If he just remains on the 15 day DL for a longer period of time does he still receive the bump?)
He needs to be on the 60 to get more then one bump.
As an example, I pasted the below guy. He had a 20 day shoulder injury. I really had to make a decision because he is a great pitcher and I didn't want to shut him down for sixty games. However, I was only offered a 7 day or a 60 stint. I was afraid that a seven day stint would not have seen any recovery, so as much as it hurt to lose him, I placed him on the 60 day DL. He just received his second recovery three cycles before he is eligible to be activated from the DL.

My big question would be how did you get him so cheap..
I would bet he paid the guy a big bonus when he signed him and gave him less per year. I don't think bonuses show up on the contact tab.

You can see his salary is 15mil but the contract tab only has 5mil for the season.
Yep. That is exactly right. I paid him a max signing bonus a few seasons back when I had less prospect money budgeted.
Update on Jang....
He kept his injury recovery bump through the rollover.

I'll trade you for him!

The previous owner used him as a closer and I used him as a SetupA so he probably won't be a Hall of Famer. Relief pitchers in Glavine 300 have a hard time making it in.

See. So you could trade him to me in one of my 3 worlds and give him a better chance of making the HoF. The only issue is that I'm not sure space travel has been developed yet in HBD.

Nice!

I had to promote some players at the roster expansion who weren't quite ready to be ML starters in order to try and meet the 4 season MWR for our league. If I meet the MWR and then demote them back to the minors are they already accruing beginning next season the same as if I promoted them after the 20 games this season? Can I wait to promote them by an additional 25 days next season so they only start accruing seasons toward arbitration the season after next?

However many days they spend in the big leagues this season, they will have to spend in the minors (plus the typical 20) to get the extra pre-arb year. You can actually split up the time they spend in the minors over a couple of seasons. For example, you can keep them down for 30 days to start the season each of the next two seasons instead of just keeping them down for 60 days next season.

Great! Thanks.

Make sure that you demote them during the ML playoffs and not during spring training, so that you don't take a demotion penalty.

You can also demote them during next off-season, before the Rule 5 draft, without incurring a demotion penalty.

Did not know that. Thanks, BJ.

I made a horrible mistake this past season when I demoted a player after ST. I thought that would be the perfect time. Apparently not. He lost 3 entire rating points (4 in Contact, 5 in glove, 3 VL 3 VR, 4 BE and 3 BR). He was going to be a solid starting CF/2B but is not a bench guy. Its that makeup rating or 15 that caused it. I've since traded him, he'll be off the roster in 1 game.

I did something similar with a guy that had high patience rating a few seasons ago. Up until then, everyone I demoted that had a patience rating above 85 didn't take a demotion ratings hit. However, I demoted a guy from AAA to double AA because my double A team was playoff bound and my AAA team was not going to make the playoffs. So, I figured I would demote the guy to AA, play him in the playoffs, then promote him at the end of the season for an extra ratings bump.

Nope -- he took a huge ratings hit with the initial demotion and didn't gain back those ratings. I no longer play that game.

Did that once, too. I had an 18 yr old RP sign late in the season. The team he was didn’t make the playoffs so I dropped him a level to get him into more games. But the kid has, literally, a 0 Patience rating, and he lost a bunch of points. Took him a few seasons to get them back, being only 18 probably helped.

Has anyone tried a lefty catcher in a pinch? I have a guy with 41 PC and is going up against a bad pitcher against lefties. It would give me one more lefty in the starting lineup and his PC isn’t much worse than my starter.
