I wish they would give more frequent bumps to minor league teams that make the playoffs. Everyone keeps saying they see the bumps but I never see it.
1 bump if your team plays in 2 rounds or 6 games, 2 bumps if they play all the way to the WS or 14 games?
The way I understand it is that it all depends on timing. Barring injury, a typical player receives 6 bumps a year (spring training bump; five regular season bumps). However, each player receives a bump at different times. So a player may receive his fifth regular season bump a few games into the minor league playoffs. Whereas another player may not have received his fifth bump yet despite the minor league playoffs being over.
If you promote the guy that already received his fifth regular season bump, he may or may not receive another bump due to promotion. My best guess is that it depends on how many games he played since his last regular bump. However, if you promote the guy that only had four regular bumps, he will most likely get the promotion bump and if the team played a bunch of playoff games, this final bump is usually pretty good.
