U.S. hiring strengthened in January as more Americans hopped into the labor market, helping rev up the economy at the start of the year.

Employers added 225,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate ticked up to 3.6% from 3.5% in December, an increase that reflected more people looking for work, the Labor Department said Friday.

Wages climbed 3.1% from a year earlier, a touch stronger than December’s rise of 3%.

“The labor market and the consumer are the strength of the economy and they’re in good shape,” said Eric Winograd, senior economist at AllianceBernstein.

Those were from JOBS REPORTS TODAY. I did another for JAN 2020. Same stuff from Forbes etc.

No reason to go into another 6 sub sets and repeat over and over.

Perhaps you were listening to NPR. That would explain everything. Let me look.

Even NPR. I can't find it. Let me know if you do. Until then I'll treat it as a angry jock spouting off.

Still looking for the exact newspiece I heard on the radio, but 1 quick google search found me this, in the meantime

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/08/21/jobs-u-s-employment-501-000-lower-than-believed-after-revisions/2076069001/

This article just talks about the 2019 jobs added stat being revised downwards by over 500,000 jobs----the largest downward revision in history.
Seems the Trump admin. was overestimating the guestimate by GOBS!!

I'll find the exact piece, give me time.

I didn't just make it up.
Only Trump does that, but I know that's what you're used to.
HERE, in my posts you can expect a 100% attempt at honesty and a desire to post only FACT!
I'll find it for you. Give me time.

HERE you go Doug. I had to enlist help from someone younger and better with PC's.

On 2/7/2020 at 8:41 AM EST one Scott Horsley, reported via NPR the latest Gov't statistics of which the other USA Today article speaks of in that article.
He (Horsley) reports the exact same jobs added "revisions"--(to the exact number).
Revised downwards as widely reported elsewhere.

In the final paragraph of Horsley's report is the following.
Quoted here word for word.

"In the 36 months since Pres. Trump took office the U.S. has ADDED 6.6 Million jobs!
By comparison, U.S. employers
added 8.1 Million jobs in the 36 months before that."

NOTE Doug. These are U.S. Governmental released job numbers.
NPR has NOTHING to do with the numbers.

Don't even bother trying to denigrate NPR as IF the fact that THEY reported the NEWS makes the news false!
The statistics are what they are. You can't spin factual numbers released by Trump's OWN government.

THAT kind of post WILL get red-lined!

Thank Gawd Trump hasn't been able to F-up too badly the growing economy he was furnished by Pres. Obama.

Hiring Picks Up As Employers Add 225,000 Jobs In January

Friday, February 07, 2020

By Scott Horsley : White House Correspondent for NPR News

U.S. employers added more jobs than expected last month, while the unemployment rate inched up to 3.6%. Unusually warm weather contributed to job gains for construction workers.

The Labor Department made its annual adjustment to hiring stats today, using more complete information. Job gains from April 2018 to March 2019 were somewhat smaller (514,000) than initially reported.

Sorry. That's the article. 500,000 less jobs but nothing about 8 mil vs 6 mil. You can read it for yourself.

Good numbers for January. 225,000. Way more than predicted. Good job Mr.President.

Question: How many jobs were lost during the crash? I would like to know the total employment in 2007 vs 2008. A lot of jobs were lost.

Let's say 10 people were employed by Bush in 2007 but half of them lost their jobs by 2008. Then Obama starts with 5 workers in 2008 and ends up with 12 in 2016. How many jobs did he create?

As the end of Obama’s term in office neared, the unemployment rate stood at 4.6%. That’s the lowest it’s been since August 2007, and a drastic improvement compared to unemployment levels hovering near 10% during Obama’s first two years as president.

Over the full course of the Obama years, though, there’s been a net loss of about 300,000 manufacturing jobs.

TRUMP HAS CREATED MANUFACTURING JOBS.

Like you said...facts are stubborn things.

Read on Doug. It IS the same news piece.
I told you, it's the very last paragraph of that article.
SAME article.

I just saw it myself.
Scroll down, it's there!
Don't spin!

I won't spin your FACTS.
In fact, I didn't.
Your quotes are accurate.
So is the last paragraph AS I quoted it!

Seems this post has strayed off topic. Not surprising.
There is a lot of hate in this country. Too bad the politicians didn't get along and work for the people instead of for their political party. Too bad that areas of the country are so partisan that the politicians from those districts can't be held accountable by being voted out of office for their hatred and lies. They know they have a majority base that will always vote for them. Lifetime politicians should have never been allowed and the need for term limits is way overdue.
I'd like to see 1 political party. Maybe they would call themselves Americans and work together. Imagine what would happen.

Oldest, lamest BS around. Thought you were better than that bob. Continue to tell us how everything "good" the past 3+ years is because of OBama, but everything "bad" is because of Trump. That sad, played-out crap is 200 years old. You'd be better-off creating another made-up scandal.
2/8/2020 9:40 PM
I agree Mr. Heid. All except for the last couple sentences. Lifetime politicians ARE the problem, at least one of the bigger ones!!

But I don't know How you go about stopping that. Term limits won't do it. They just jump from 1 elected position to another when facing term limited out.
And the 1 party idea. That's like Russia!
