Dodgers are 3dayrotations
yup... and the list of players has ROE as 50-51 but he pitched till 54... which is a huge part of the pick with a decent lefty coming on board in 55 (or who will be decent after a couple of rough years...)

Change Walash to start in 1904

I'd like in and I'll go with the Boston Braves.

Warren Spahn 1950-1964

Sid Gordon 1950-1953 (there is a pretty good rookie coming up in 1954 to replace him named Aaron)

Legacy: Hugh Duffy 1891-1900

Are we allowed to take a second team and if so does it matter if it's an AL or NL team.
3/4/2020 2:39 PM
Oh, why the heck not.

Drop me a Detroit Tigers franchise.

George Kell (1950-1952)
Dizzy Trout (1950-1952)
Both, admittedly bridges to better days ahead.

EDIT... Roscoe Miller (1901-1902) - one final bridge to the better days ahead.

Sent out invites to Al Bender's FDDS & MMPL progressives which have been going for 90+ seasons. Doc was with this group..

I invited ACE from Deadball.

PS- Where are those die-hard Cubs fans?

Thanks guys, I have a good feeling. I also need the weekend to set up the draft, get a private forum, and league number. So as much as I want to get this going, a few more days is good for me. (71 and working 32+ hours this week, but I enjoy that too, crazy?)

I'm not a die-hard Cubs fan, but of the three franchises left, they seem to be the most promising. So count me in. Here are my legacies:

Roy Smalley (1950-53)
Bob Rush (1950-57)
Mordecai Brown (1904-12)

A note: It's difficult for owners to come in at the tail end of a league like this, at an obvious disadvantage for the first few seasons. That's my way of saying I don't think the draft order should pile on by being random; I think the first pick should go to either
(a) the worst actual record in the season to be played, or
(b) the lowest salary total of the three legacy players in each year.

i agree with the draft order idea.

tdoak's suggestion (b) is interesting. (a) doesn't work as our teams have little relationship to the real-life value of franchises.

a 50/150 is high. Most progressives are 40/162. Having only 16 teams, the initial pool 22X16 will require 352. The initial draft needs to more than just
1950 rookies. (if rules read correctly) I would suggest allowing 1948-1950 of unclaimed players..

I went through the 1st 100 position players for all teams & found only 7 rookies. The entire pool is just 272.

The future pools should auto give you a player if you select that team. Example Braves get Arron in his rookie year, Dodger's get Koufax etc,
I think you initially planned this.
No Cap
AAA?BP ?, WW?,

The initial draft is all 1950 players not just rookies. The only time rookies have been mentioned is when you replace a territorial player.

No cap, DH, WW, below average AAA Stadium your team used.

Rufus after season starts their are procedures in the rules to make changes like the anti tanking. At about the 100 game mark follow the rules to propose your change. No I didn’t plan on any future automatic Territorials, you get what you plan for. I would have never used the players I did to replace Ashburn & Roberts in my example.

tdoak & 3day, I don’t agree with all of what you say, some of us didn’t pick the best team possible now, hoping for future players. No way would I agree to point A. Point B is interesting, but I think it is too late in the game. People picked their players based on the first proposal, changing now punishes them.

When rules are clarified... on thing we could use a judgment on... TERRITORIAL PLAYERS - when they leave our franchise via trade, in their final season, can we use the full/combined season with our franchise name attached, or do we have to use the split season?

Also, when a territorial player leaves a franchise but their career continues, I assume that they are cut and added to the general draft pool for everyone else, right?
