There are a ton of great pitching options for this league (most of whom haven't been picked yet). Hitters, on the other hand...

I probably would have picked Cobb with the first pick in the draft... maybe Pedro

I'm curious what the final RC27 numbers would look like. Would a Cobb provide a bigger impact than Ruth? Both will get a ton of PA. Would the money saved with Cobb's salaries versus Ruth buy enough impact to justify?

One Ruth is good at 180M. Two Ruth's is probably good given the fact that SP quality will be lower than an average 180M league due to a lot of top options being drafted exclusively. Three Ruth's is probably too expensive, in my opinion

I think having 3 Ruth versions plus nobody else can touch him makes the case to get him...he will do considerable damage to the opposition.

As was stated earlier, the deadballers will limit Ruth's value, though he'll still be great. I think Cobb outdoes him with the overall pitching in this league.

defer to the experts, but for three outstanding seasons without burning through entire cap, i had Brown as top pitcher and Mantle as top hitter. not sure I've ever really played with Mantle in a league, though

Yes me too. It's ok, they let me win once in awhile so I continue to pay dues...they even let me finish Round 1's WISC regular season in 3rd place. Very gracious of them...then they kicked me to the curb.
