bob, I truely believe you are a good person, but your sight is limited. You make decisions and then try to justify them by making rediculous theories that don't hold water.
Your reason for voting Bernie because of his health care proposition and then reasoning it with the numbers that you use and the way you use them proves you don't see the big picture.
I will give you 2 examples to contradict your reasoning. I'll use your numbers so it is easier for you to comprehend.
1.Suppose Joe is a healthy 26 year old. Has only ever been to the Doctor for a mild sore throat or ear infection. Those things happen once or twice a year and he would prefer to just pay the $150 office call each time he goes to the Doctor verses paying for any health insurance, regardless of deductibles or co-pays or even Bernies plan where it would be FREE! Because he knows it really isn't FREE!
2.Suppose Jim works at a large company and his employer pays the majority of his health insurance bill. They still take $150 a month out of his paycheck and the company covers $450 of the healthcare bill. It is at a reduced rate because they have a lot of employees that allow them to get insurance cheaper.
Now let's switch to the BS plan. It's FREE. Only we all know it isn't. Even you are willing to suggest that if we have to pay $12,000 a year in taxes that it would be equivilent to what premiums are, so the cost wouldn't be any greater.
Let's assume BS gets elected and he gets his FREE health care for all implemented.
How many people do you assume are going to go the the Doctor when they don't really need to? Lori's baby wakes up with a fever and she figures, it's FREE, I'll take him/her to the Doctor. Guess what? It will happen a ton and it will overload the health-care industry to the point that your $12,000 a year will become $20,000 before Bernie finishes his 1st term or dies, whichever comes first.
Now let's go back to Joe and Jim. Joe would appreciate having the CHOICE not to have health insurance, he doesn't need it. He'd save thousands every year. Jim is happy with his insurance thru his company. He has multiple plans he can choose from with varing amounts of deductibles and the premium costs for those plans give him the option to save money as well. It is already cheaper than $12,000 a year under Bernie's FREE plan and he too would like to keep his FREEDOM of CHOICE.
bob, just because Obamacare has benifited you doesn't mean it is good for everyone. It has done nothing for those who HAD insurance but to raise their premiums. Studies have shown that the cost of premiums have doubled since it went into effect and Obama claimed premiums would come down! Imagine that! If you have 2 dogs and you add another, do you think you'll have to buy more dog food or less? If I have to pay for my insurance and then all of the sudden I have to help pay for someone elses I'm pretty sure my cost is going to go up. Yeah, Obama was a smooth talker. There are a lot of gullible people out there, even some who think that Bernies FREE health insurance for EVERYONE won't cost anymore than what they are already paying.
You live in your own little world bob. Enjoy!
