Franchise Profile: Red Sox - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports are currently 10 GB of first in the division and 8 GB of the 2nd Wild Card spot. We are 8th in Runs Scored and 9th in FLD%. Pitching is slightly below league average in terms of ERA, but shouldn't be bad enough to cause an 8-22 mark in one run games...

Lol do you get an email about it? Or would you only notice when a player doesn't play?
You get an email like other injuries.

Honestly the team and players look to me like they are performing to there ratings. I did not look at other teams in your world. Your pitching is not very good. Please do not take it as being rude I just am trying to answer your question.

Not if it's a one-game injury. When I've had one-game injuries I see the red "Injured Player" header on my homepage, but I don't get an e-mail message.

I actually thought my SD team was bad at 1 run games. Turns out (other then this season) they have been pretty good.

here’s what I do. (I have no idea if it works)
for all bullpen staff set the pull rating to 5.
I’d add at least 1-2 gold glove defensive SS to the bench to help hold those 1 run leads. (90’s across the board)
maybe a defensive C as well with pitch calling in the 90’s and can gun down base stealers.

very important. The defensive players don’t have to hit. Don’t even look at their bat. If they can run, it’s a bonus.

I had a similar year before. I had the best pitching in the AL during season 48 of Earl Weaver -- ended up with an expected winning percentage of .576, but due to the distribution of runs scored and runs given up in games and a 15-30 record in one-run games, I ended up being five games below .500. That is a difference of .107 when you compare expected winning percent vs. actual winning percentage. It is extremely frustrating.

I do what is suggested above as well -- defensive replacements at RF and C that should help secure those 9th inning small leads. Sometimes your guys score ten runs in one game and the team wins by 6 runs and then score one run the next game and your team loses by one or two runs. That is the luck part of the game. When you are in the thick of a season like this, it can get downright maddening.

Player #2 -- not only will he pitch more innings, but he will pitch more quality innings. Player 1 will probably give up less overall slugging than player 2, but player 1 will suffer in WHIP.

Assuming they play the majority of their career in the NL
I have player #1 with a career .207 avg given up and an OBP given up of .301
I have player #2 with a career .225 avg given up and an OBP given up of .288

Any long term success with three-pitch SPs?
