Has Dave Kingman been picked before? I doubt it. In 1978 I went to a doubleheader at Wrigley against the Phillies with a friend. We arrived to find the games sold-out. Went in to Ray's Bleachers (now Murphy's) slightly underage. Hard to imagine in today's world but there were only 10-15 people in the whole place. Kingman won both games with late homers. I remember the TV was about 13 inches and the roars from the stadium came just before the sound on the TV. That's my only reason to pick him.

Mets fan here. He was the only fun thing about the Mets in the late 70s after they traded Seaver and the place went to hell in a handbasket. Hit the ball a MILE at a time when steroids weren't so widespread. It was a must watch every time Kong came to the plate.

I absolutely loved watching Kingman hit. He was certainly one of my all time favorites.

He backhanded a ball, one armed, into the upper deck one time. I laughed out loud at the time it was so incredible. No juice and no juiced ball.

No, Kingman has not participated in DEAL prior to this season.

So far this season he joins fellow DEAL rookies
Will Smith, Mike Greenwell, Frank Snyder, Devon Travis, Seranthony Dominguez, Phil Douglas, Dick McAuliffe, Brian Roberts and Ezra Sutton
