I had a Garvey clam boat I named "White Rabbit" but it sank in Hurricane Gloria.
I had a "hurricane" Gloria once.........and we did shuck some "clam" in a boat once........and I listened to the original "White Rabbit" just the other night.
I can't speak to anything I may or may not have sunk that afternoon.
Wouldn't be prudent.
Especially what with everyone all sheltered in place and all...................

I'm not a Republican, I've stated several times that I'm a classic liberal. You wish me harm by extension, not party affiliation.

One would think a Republican virus would target Biloxi, Mississippi or Wheeling, West Virginia, not New York City, San Francisco and greater Seattle. It targets everyone, bob...and it doesn't care who you voted for.
Of course I DO agree with you.
AND, I'm also glad to hear you're NOT a Rep.
I'm also a classic liberal.........at least in some respects.
I definitely don't think the word liberal is a negative thing at all, regardless of how the right tends to try and spin it.

And in ALL seriousness. I will refrain from referring to this scourge/virus as the "republican virsus" the VERY SECOND that I see demonstrated that the LEADER of our Country has stopped referring to the virus as the Chinese Virus or the China virus!
I'm just following the lead set from the supposed LEADER of the free world.

In practice however, in my REAL life I refuse to be anywhere near as small as He is!
Sometimes, the rhetoric on both sides goes too far. If you don't like the President's behavior, being just as heartless in the opposite direction doesn't make your case.

This virus is a real thing and some of us stand a measurable chance of not faring well if we get it. Even if you are talking rhetorically, you may get your "wish."

"what kind of a person in such a leadership position does that."

A very SMALL person Dino.
But we SHOULD have known that going in!

Nowhere did I wish you anything goMiami.
Unless you identify as scum within the Republican Party.
You already steered us clear on that.

I wish you well personally.
Especially as it concerns ANY illness.

im trying to treat it like being snowed in without snow.
i think places like ny and caif....wa.....pa...nj should just say schools out forv the summer and start converting schools to hospitals right now.

every single state should now have state sponsored businesses creating catastrophe stockpile supplies of ventilators...protective gear...meds....beds.... spare hospitals..more hospitals etc for another one of these and they should do it year by year all year round every year from now on as a part of each state budget.
nothing to be sold...state stockpiles.
i am wondering what anyone thinks about this...the federal govt obviously should do it but i think this is the type of planning needed going forward.

I wish all of us well and i will personally say that gomiami is an exceptional guy.
make no mistake about that.

one thing that i try never to do is to extend my feeling for trump unto others who might vote for him although it does engender great disappointment at times.
the scum i would apply to certain politicians that i despise like rand paul for example and to be honest the senate leader.
we should refrain from attacking people for party affiliation and i dont think bob was really doing that.
Thank you, Sir.

Most of this is the political culture we live in, thanks mainly to the Internet. There's this concrete false dichotomy in politics, a "you're either with us or against us" mentality. Within politics, that somewhat makes sense, since you can only show support/vote for one (and by default, you are supporting/voting against everybody else.)

But, life beyond politics has grey areas. Forget about me. Wishing harm or death on someone because they think different, act different, ARE different...is covered quite nicely in Mein Kampf. You could kill every person who voted for Trump and it would make no difference. The 50% that remain would be at each other's throats within a generation of the genocide because that's what humans do best, war amongst ourselves.

I don't know.

I see a large divide between the ideal and its application. It's a great idea. However, like most things the government gets its fingers into, it would become a huge source of wasted funds, corruption and special interest self-enrichment. I would rather there be a PLAN in place (that could be activated for a crisis) rather than physical dollars, space, resources, etc. spent.

Each challenge is unique and the stockpiles that are needed for coronavirus may be useless for the next pandemic...and you can't afford to stockpile everything.

Physicist (and all around pretty smart guy) Albert Einstein said: "We shall require a substantial new manner of thinking if Mankind is to survive."

I wish I knew just what, specifically, He was warning us about when he said that.
I'm no wizard but I suspect it may have been (or still is) important.

Someday we'll all know just HOW it is we got here as this very divided Country.
Someday we'll all know just How badly we got shucked in 2016.
Someday (I hope) we'll all find out how close we came to ruin in 4 short years.
Someday the ability of a POTUS to strike out truth with a sharpie and a false edit and fool Americans will be over.
Someday soon, I hope.

But then, I've been advised.
Some people never know.

it seems very clear that if trump had been removed that the country and world would be in a better place if pence had become president.

youhave to be prepared before you need to get prepared.things like hospitals and beds and ventilators wont go bad...or gowns....
we need to stockpile and have a new rainy day planning.

private sector is used in the moment.....you need govt to plan ahead....of the people...for the pepple.....by the people.

The germans introduced chlorine gas into warfare in April, 1915. To combat it, the Entente started making and stockpiling a zillion masks. The Germans switched to yellow cross (mustard gas) in 1917, which burned the skin rather than damage the lungs. The stockpile of masks was immediately obsolete.

You never know what you'll need until the crisis is upon you. Building 1,000 hospitals, when what you really needed was 1,000 underground bunkers or making 10,000,000 ventilators, when what you really needed was 10,000,000 dialysis machines...

Your heart is in the right place.
