We can agree to disagree.
I think, in the real world, I would have better schools interested in me than I do in HD.
I'm not complaining about not being qualified for the Kentucky job, but I did build VMI up from a D+ to a B- in prestige. Some of those lower to mid-level ACC or Big East teams should be interested.
I did lose in the conference tourney finals I think 5 seasons in a row.
Clemson just opened up in Tark, hopefully that draws you back in. I'd say one or two more seasons at VMI and you've got them haha!
Can I ask exactly which P5 jobs you're eligible fo and some lower ones you weren't? Out of my own curiosity - I'd like to compare what I think you'd get in real life and what you're being offered in HD. To me, I'd guess you'd get a fairly low level P5 school or a stronger mid major in real life, but only because your 'resume' would come as a huge red flag as you hadn't proven much against significant competition barring 2 games in the NT over 9 seasons.
Either way, I think the scheduling is one big thing holding you back from good to great coach. If you compare your longer-tenured P5 schools and my UVA team, your talent destroys mine. However, we've had similar successes and I think that's because I schedule a bit more effectively. Again, let me know if you have any questions regarding it because you have teams that could easily be making the S16 or E8 but may not be making those runs because of poor seeding (secondary to poor SOS capping your RPI / seeding).
