what players make up the "supplemental draft" for the grad transfer option. considering a player who only has 2 of next 3 available seasons, and want to know who his replacement will be chosen from
players who have a missed season

the team can draft a 'Grad Transfer" - at the end of that seasons draft

in the initial draft - that would be round 13
subsequent drafts - round 4

I understand the 4th round pick in future drafts, but how are there "Grad Transfers" in the initial draft? If a player isn't listed for 71, 91 or 11, then he's ineligible to be drafted, right? No other picks should be needed after the 12 rounds.

teams can draft players that are injured and are sitting out

teams may not draft players before their rookie WIS season.

(Im not sure who that would be in the 71 - 91 - 11 seasons)

I have zero idea what players that effects, but FWIW, I don't feel it was clear before now and those players should NOT be eligible to be drafted this season.
Appreciate the quick answer (as every League owner scrambles to find the hidden jem.)

100% agree. I was under impression player had to have a 70-71 season, 90-91 or 10-11 to be eligible
4/9/2020 4:30 PM
Agreed as well. If it was announced from the beginning, the clear strategy would be to take those players and tank in year one, but if it’s only revealed in round 3, that’s not very fair.
4/9/2020 4:35 PM
That's interesting. I guess I made an assumption. Will correct big board now......
4/9/2020 4:35 PM
If this wasn't announced before now, that's not ideal, BUT on the list of guys to whom this would actually apply, I don't see too many good ones. Most of them are rookies next year. In fact, I can't find one who is decent in Years 2 & 3 and eligible now. Whoever it is, they're probably still available.

If you've been drafting for future value thus far, you can still do that. If you want those guys, they're still there. I think we're good.
4/9/2020 4:38 PM
???
If that creates a problem -

I dont have an issue with falling back
and outlawing letting a player be drafted in a season in which he is hurt

Im not sure how enabling a player getting drafted who is hurt in tthat first season is any different than enabling a player to be drafted who is hurt in the future...
4/9/2020 4:39 PM
Wait - part of the problem is that I don't think we should be able to draft those guys.

There are no trades during the draft, and there should be no trades after the draft, because what would be the difference? With that being the case, we need 12 guys with minutes, so the idea of drafting guys who don't have minutes this year doesn't really make sense in the first place, even if it is allowed.
