How close are people coming to the salary cap? I thought $130M would be plenty, but I can't get everybody I want... have to make some choices. A rough estimate shows I will have almost $20 million of wasted salary.

I've been massaging my team over the past several rounds. I've been anywhere between $80K and $10M under the cap depending on how I move players around.

I was too concerned with minimizing salary early it seems. Best I can do right now is $115M with no wasted salary. I guess I’ll be upgrading some spots and not even using a couple drafted players.

The last two picks could change this, but I'm likely to be within about 500K of hitting it. What's odd is despite the wasted salary, I kind of like the team I'll actually be playing most of the time. ... Probably a sign I did something really wrong, though.

Didn't think we couldn't forego the use of drafted players...Would change my team drastically if that's the case...

They’re still going to be on my team. I just won’t have a use for them

Compared to the 16x16, having 12 teammates seems like a lot, until you realize that not every player you draft will have a teammate you really want to use. So if you figure you need 9 batters (w/DH) and 8 usable pitchers, that's 17 players. Assuming you are using all 12 teammates, you need to actually use at least 5 of the 12 players you nominate/draft. That was really hard with this ragtag group of players. I mean, how many people are really going to use Ramos, Pena, Schaefer, Bauer, Erstad? There's maybe 1 or 2 usable versions of each of those players. That's why I focused on getting good versions of Lyons and Tiernan.

The rule is that your NOMINATED player must play. This somewhat punishes those who like to nominate some cheap scrub to help them in the draft order.

My SP are my problem. I’m okay with my offense. Looks like I may just have $10M of wasted Dinneen on my roster since that’s the only place I can upgrade.

My Ramos has to play every day. My Schaefer is a backup. Between Pena, Erstad and Bauer I'm going to need the equivalent of basically one full-time player. But I'm pretty happy with the other lineup spots, and you're not going to have 9 studs anyway.
