McGee & Raines.. steals of the draft. Had I picked in the 7-10 range instead of #2, either of those guys would have been my choice. I was actually starting to worry one person would get them both.
I agonized over this at pick #11. As you already know, Raines is a monster in this sim. I just couldn’t pass up 285 IP at 2.20 ERC though. I still wish I would’ve went with Raines because it’s a more fun pick.

For both to drop all the way to the end of round 1 was unexpected by me.

I've never understood this about the SIM, how some players consistently outperform their numbers (I guess-Raines, although I didn't know), and some are pretty consistently underwhelming (My experiences-Manny, Koufax). It should be 100% numbers generated, right?

There has to be some element of chance to determine the outcome of each play calculated by the SIM. I believe it’s cranked up on the offensive side as I rarely get my pitchers close to their RL #s in progressive leagues where talent is dispersed a bit more evenly.

I agree Dodger Don, but chance doesn't at all include some guys, like Raines, consistently performing better than his numbers. In fact, it's the exact opposite of that.

Ok. Well the Sim used to have glitch players that open league owners used to accumulate championships against the un-informed. Maybe Raines is a glitchy guy?

Never noticed. When leagues have guys hitting 90+ homers, driving in 200+ runs on a regular basis in progressive leagues it tells me the SimEngine has flaws.

Sorry tigerfan,

3B Wade Boggs
Hey spid, it's all good either way, but were you already planning on taking Mr. Boggs before I jumped the gun?
