fwiw Marques has a couple decent SG 99-100 seasons that could provide a useful counter to KD's ORB shortcomings at SF

Honestly, even without that AST bump strategy, Grant Hill should be drafted more often than not.

well i went for it haha

heres a breakdown of my draft process...

- stockton is an easy call in round 1...no idea where we go from here

- im liking a stockton/leonard backcourt...wouldnt mind using 02-03 kg at sf either

- both are gone with my 2nd...thought about draymond who ive never used but decide to go with magic and possibly try the assist bump

- westbrook makes a lot of sense for the assist bump team...he can be my #1 scorer and the 27% dreb gives me a chance to compete on the boards...plus i know i should be able to get him in the 5th

- decided is amare is available with my 3rd im gonna take him

- if amare is gone im gonna go for the assist bump...noah or jokic are the top targets...if i cant get either of them im abandoning the plan

- boerwinkle, mason, and horford are the other 4/5s im targeting...really like the defense and how clean horford and mason are

- penn takes mason...really penn?

- decide i have to get noah to pull this off...need his def/reb combo...sweating it out now as several teams could take him

- noah made it!...easy pick

- feeling good with jokic, boerwinkle, and horford still on the board for my 5th...jokic has the higher ast% and enough usg to possibly avoid grant hill, boerwinkle has the boards, and horford has the defense and 3s

- just as im leaning towards horford, bds takes him...goodbye good defense

- having a tough time deciding between jokic and boerwinkle...thinking ltb will make the choice for me and take boerwinkle

- both are still on the board for my 5th...hmmmm...never had jokic before...i can use 83-84 magic with the nice 78 d if i take jokic but ill still need to find some usg to back up jokic - not easy to find with high ast% at pf

- grant hill is far and away the best option for ast% at pf this late in the draft...as miuch as i want to use jokic i feel like the best fit for this team is to go with boerwinkle and hill

- the whole plan is ruined if someone takes westbrook...whens the last time someone drafted westbrook before the late 5th or 6th in this league? got plenty of free time to waste so i go back and check...

- someone did take him in the 3rd right after his 16-17 season came out...it was me...i need to stop smoking so much haha..totally forgot about my 16-17 westbrook/ 05-06 kobe team...naturally rodman was on that team too...fun team but i think i maxed out their potential with a 2nd round playoff exit...hopefully this team has a chance to go further

- hoopsdude is the only team where westbrook kinda makes sense...he takes kobe...nice westbrook should be mine

- looking at 6th round backups i realize i will actually have to budget the rest of the picks...not used to that in this league...even with my top choices unaffordable im happy to see i have enough to fit in mark jackson and his 39% behind stockton

- damn pau gasol goes...i was using his 18-19 330 min season...not unexpected tho...its the backups to westbrook that im really sweating out

- as expected i get westbrook, hill, and jackson....almost 5000 total assists...hope it works!
