If you redshirt a junior and his WE drops to 1, what's the verdict on his playing status for next season?

Will he show up for his playable Jr season next year? Will he transfer? I know it gets discussed often. But is there a Final sure answer from coaches who've done this?

(This question could be about a freshman or sophomores as well. I'm just asking about a junior of mine)

I know I've done it for a senior, and they came back with a WE of 1.

I think the only way they leave is if they were to get drafted. They should come back with a WE of 1.

Ok thanks. And I know about the Sr redshirt thing of course. But I was always confused on the reactions to the "drop to 1 WE in underclassmen" thing.

Reason I ask, i have a Jr with a 2 WE. And he's worth redshirting since it won't even really affect his WE. I'll just have him in a better class structure if I do it
