Rules can’t be made in middle of a draft. Don’t care if people don’t like it. Can be made as part of future season with a vote

I'm not looking to be a tyrant - or heavy handed as our commissioner -
looking to establish what is best for our league ...

let's hear your opinion on ONE AND DONE vs. Long Term commitments

I’m not for or against the rule. My concern is that, as you started perfectly, this league is about planning. To add a rule in the 10th round is not congruent with that line of thinking

my position is do not tie my hands in a draft particularly in rounds 2 and 3 i can see a scenario where a player is near the end of his career and may not have the required seasons yet may be a desirable choice for a season or two over the alternatives.

This is kind of how I feel.

I also don’t think one and dones can really be abused since there won’t be great players available in the 4th round of drafts. I also worry that removing one and dones now will greatly lower the talent pool of available freshman in the 12th since a lot of good players nearing retirement would be removed from the pool. I have my eye on a couple and would’ve used my 10th round pick on one of them had I known that there’s no way they’d be available later. But I didn’t know until now. I vote to keep the rules as written at the beginning of the draft.

If this is a league where rules change on the fly then without a process then I’m not sure it’ll last

I would’ve drafted differently with my last senior pick as well

all great posts -

I think now (with Freshman and sophomores coming up) is a good time to address this issue
(ONE and DONE vs. Long Term Commitments)

I suppose the START of the draft wold have been better to clarify or firm up -
but with this being a NEW theme - there were more pressing topics to clarify then...
and I didn't really know the future emerging issue

Im listening to both sides...

Ya I'm on board with the no rule changes during a draft, also my thoughts are on par with the owners that dont think there will be much left anyways in round 4's

Im not changing things on the fly -

I'm listening to feedback - and going with what WE think is best...

and I'm avoiding being a heavy handed *** hole (or at least attempting to) - lol

this is a new theme - we have good owners with good ideas -
I think I have a good idea for a good theme - and would like this to be a great theme for everyone...
I'm attempting to address concerns - and emerging issues

I think if you look at the upcoming 3 rookie classes and the eligible seniors re-entering the pool, you’ll find that the 73rd best player won’t be very good. I don’t think it can be abused and I would’ve drafted differently with my last Junior pick had I known earlier.

Especially because if you’re forcing owners to use their 12th round pick on a player that has at least 4 years, that pool shrinks (as opposed to the same pool plus players nearing retirement) and some teams will be stuck with crappy players for 4 years.

Perhaps I'm in the minority but I've been drafting my underclassmen with the expectation they had to be on my roster barring an injury season. I felt that was the spirit of the league and the intent was clear even if perhaps not deliberately stated. That being said, I obviously can't fault those who interpreted things differently or even knowingly sought to game the system. I'm not sure it will matter much provided the grad transfer picks occur at the end of each draft. Either way, we should finish out this draft and discuss any changes during the season.

Go look at original theme league classified - I asked these questions and they were answered.
