chazzzzzz and the 1932 NY Yankees

Gehrig and Ruth plus solid starters at all positions but SS. Lots of options for SP, but little RP help.

Welcome the 1922 Philadelphia Phillies. Still a weak SS, no backup 1B so at this point Roy Leslie and his $3.3mm salary is backing up Gehrig.
The Phillies have a good C, solid 2B and 2 good OF, so do the Yankees. There are some backup options, but after your next screw team you will have to juggle your roster. And to top it off, you should get no help from the Phillies pitching staff because they suck.

kentol went for pitching... looked around for a "good" team to match that. "liked" the 52 senators but he gave them to some unlucky bastard. found myself running in circles until i looked back on the post that handed out the 52 team and the suggestions of the 52 pirates and the amazings of 62 ...

hope that the benchmark for mlb crap gives you enough quality... how many of the 62 Mets do you have to roster? good luck.

It's a whole bunch of more of what you're already good at and not much of what you're lacking.
I mean, there's 12 position players, and the only two below 1M were something you already had.
You can have Rommel, but he's 300 innings of....fine?

Ok Spid24 - I have looked at these teams enough. I am gifting you a team with seven (7!) viable options at scrub positions. Oh, but 5 of them are pitchers. And you only get 10 pitchers. So, how many do you really want to use? And they are truly, truly, worthless unusable scrubs. In fact, all the pitchers are completely worthless with a combined WHIP of 1.55 and OAV of .284.

On the hitting side, I'm giving you a hall of famer - Luke Appling! I am sure that D+ fielding at SS will be easy to use. Not to mention the .684 OPS#. That 42 Cardinals team of yours only hit 60 homers. Well, I'll add another 34 to the tally. Along with a .278/.339/.377 team slash line in an era where ALL of the hitting stats are normalized downward.

And, from the looks of things, it looks like when Shoeless Joe left the team, he took all of the gloves, also. Because these guys can't catch ANYTHING.

I love that they had players named Blue and Funk in the lineup too. Appropriate for a team that lost 102 games.

Kentol earlier said he found himself running in circles and that's just how I felt trying to screw brygold's 72 Pirates. I narrowed it down to three. Then one was taken to make it two. Then I endlessly ran back and forth between the two. The problem is that each team gives him something so I don't think he will be too traumatized by the pick. Anyway, I made my choice.

They weren't any good. In fact they were 53-100. They were led by the Great Hall of Famer Rube Marquard who led the team in wins. Otherwise, not too many household names.

Sure the best 2 hitters play the same position as Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan. And yes, the All-Stars and Award Winners may have been a little past their prime (or before it). But this team managed to avoid losing 100 games and did form the nucleus of a World Series Winner just 4 short years later. I'm gifting you the 1982 New York Mets. You're welcome.
