So here are my player hierarchies for Theme League on Canadian teams and Canada-born players:

Fielder, Guerrero, Jorgensen, Tony Fernandez and Hassey - NONE of them starting regulars at any position are listed as the DH options.

When I went to look at how many inningis Tim Foli, a defensive replacement bench player had played at various positions, I found the following:

7 games and 10 innings played at DH !!

How is that possible? Why would Sparky put in Foli as DH when there are 5 available players who are not starters that I listed as the options for DH? Foli is hitting .214.

hes being used as a pinch runner and then staying in the game, since there's no need to replace him until the DH spot comes up again in the order

Thanks ! I feel better now. Tim Foli as DH was creating cognitive dissonance.

Yes, but I never listed Foli among the possible designated hitters. So it has to be that he is being used as a pinch-runner FOR the DHs once they hit.

Actually using Foli as a DH WOULD demonstrate imagination on Sparky's part, and that would mean that Skynet was now operational...
