In the spirit of the unknown for this league, I have to go with Cy Seymour SP or OF. I guess I will find out later if he pitches (1899-1900) or hits 1901-1903 for me the first year.

C23 has really thrown us a curve with this league. I love it. No idea who I will be drafting by about Round 7.

Glad you guys are enjoying it so far. I am too - I think I have a reasonable drafting strategy, but who knows...this really does make you rethink a lot of your baseline assumptions around how to win in a progressive.

And those guys who switch between pitching and other positions, yeah...fun...they're a challenge even when you KNOW what you're getting. I had Harry Howell in a progressive once...mid career (1902) for no apparent reason he moves from pitching to playing second base, for one season. Really fouls up your roster.

Especially because having him pitch from all the way back at second base is not really optimal.

Leach is a good pick here I think. I almost took him with my last pick. Also, his chapter in The Glory of Their Times is a good read...which, by the way, if you have never read that book, it will definitely put you in the mood of this era.
