I've been fighting this all night hoping the right combination would magically show up. It didn't, so I'll take:

It is the Biggest Day of Birding Days. It is Global Big Day.

With that said, I take the '52 Cardinals.

Now get out and count birds.

I don't know about the rest of you but my head hurts. I knew this was going to be tough but it's much worse than I expected. I have come to realize that we are all crazy. But I have also come to realize that Beernoser is not just crazy but is INSANE. And he has some kind of evil power to be able to convince 23 other people to follow him down his Rabbit Hole.

Saying all that I'm glad he picked me to follow him and I can't wait to see how this plays out.

I'll take the 72 Cubs

The Big Year is one of my favorite movies.

I had a nest of hummingbirds in my yard for four seasons until some barn swallows nested too close to her and chased her off. She was a wonderful parent. Got 19 eggs to hatch and only lost one baby. The barn swallows work so hard to feed their young but they only get about a third out of the nest alive.

Hummingbirds are rather tenacious little creatures. They chase off many birds 5 times their size. But they'll never name a baseball team after them.

This hummingbird tried to chase them off. They just kind of ignored her. She had to go past their next to get to hers and eventually she just gave up and left.Hopefully she's still doing fine nesting on a windchime in a neighbor's yard.
