I got laid off after the dot.com bust, and then after the 2008 recession. Really frustrating looking for work when the economy is struggling. Doing job interviews when you have a job is easy, but when you are out of work it is really difficult to interview well. Makes it almost impossible to come across as confident. Too much pressure.

I echo that. I had two layoffs in 2008, and there's no question the balance of power shifts to the employer significantly. I took two jobs with basically no bargaining position at much less than I was worth, and it took me over 10 years just to earn the same dollar figure on paper as my best pre-recession salary. But of course that's in 2020 dollars now, not 2008 dollars, so it's still lower in effective salary.

Most people do not appreciate the long-term impact of these job losses. We are going to see millions of people eat away any savings they might have had with no way to regain it for the foreseeable future. It's hard to be optimistic about that changing.

Yes, but be careful with the Senators. There are two separate Senators franchises. One became the Twins and the other became the Rangers

I'm curious to see the final range of team salaries for the $180M variable league. I came in at $161M.

I always wait until after the seasons start to divulge company secrets.

Question for the $80M league. If your player's top season is a combined season (or your franchise played in 2 parks that season, a la 1999 Mariners) can you choose which ballpark to use?

For a combined season, no, you have to use the park of the version you pick.

For multi-parks within a season by a franchise, yes, you can use either

So am I the only one who had to go back and look at these teams again because it felt like you made them soooo long ago?

I'm starting to wish I'd done my write-ups right away. I'm definitely going to forget what my thought process was.

My write ups are easy

Me ------- Stuff ------ Wall ------ Hope

I do them as I complete each team, sometimes as I'm doing them. I can't wait to find out what I'll be thinking about that 110 team because I've barely gotten that one started.
