That is a huge issue for me, as is well documented. Shaq can also only play center which sucks. I gave Shaq the bump because of his PNT%, which gives me flexibility at the other positions.

I probably would have been a little annoyed with either of them due to the position effectiveness thing though.

The position effectiveness is annoying - but not enough to bump those guys from the 1/2 spots. I would've taken Lebron over either because he's the ultimate flexibility king; agree with dh that he would've been the #1 overall pick if he wasn't blacklisted (though I would have definitely taken Wilt #2 over the other guys)

whoops...i misread that as shaq and kareem at 4/5 behind durant

so durant over mailman? kinda surprised there since durant is mostly stuck at the 3...but i guess he could play some 2 and even at the 3 hes giving you nice nice flexibility with the 3pt shooting and the ast%

Positional flexibility with good shot distribution. Malone plays tons of minutes with high MID% and high USG%, which paints me into a corner trying to get PNT% at SF and C with the later picks. I hate getting boxed in early in a draft and prefer getting more flexible guys.

I don't know if I'd go so far to say "loses his charm." He was blacklisted for a reason. Several more excellent seasons to choose from there (mostly the lower usage ones).

yea i hear ya on that robusk...thats why i was considering my #3 with the top pick over shaq/kareem

If including blacklisted, Lebron 1, Wilt 2, Steph probably 5... There’s so few guys that give you 57-60% from the floor at tier 2 usage with 60+ def and no other weaknesses.

shaq vs kareem: paint/tov superiority vs minutes/defense. It’s honestly 6 of one, half dozen of the other. They were more like my 1a & 1b than 1 & 2. Kareem has more top seasons to choose from, but Shaq’s top seasons are. Just. So. Good.

Durant could’ve been 3-15 depending on how much you value minutes. I’m probably over valuing them, but I really want my first pick to be giving me 35+ mpg all five seasons.

and yeah, my number 5 actually could be my number 3. Mailman’s consistently high usage edged out when I did my board, but looking at it now, I probably move this guy 3, Mailman 4, and Jordan to 5.

CP3 is no doubt top PG in this format, though. Not even close imo! No better combination of ast%, low tov%, defense, reb%, with solid usg+efg combo for five seasons overall. That tov% is the difference maker.

but he loses too much usg in the laker seasons and hes just an average scorer in the warriors seasons

A couple of those warrior seasons are not average at all. I kind of wish he’d been around just for the challenge of building support Wilt teams AND High usg Wilt teams

I would guess we are all thinking about the same next guy to drop. To me it was a clear top 8 and then a noticeable drop off.

More Wilt:

66-67, 67-68, 68-69 are top notch support seasons. 70-71 great, too.
62-63, 65-66 & even 63-64 are great more ball dominant seasons. I’d likely use the first 3 support & first 2 ball dominant

Average in a single season, yes. This is five seasons. Only a handful of guys are gonna give you better fg%, and only one of those guys compares on the boards (and nowhere close to those minutes)

oh man you could really cherry pick some great 1-3 season high usg scorers to go with wilt...knowing you can rely on wilt to be the main scorer in those other 2-3 seasons
