7. jpevans31 - Dwight Howard - I reconsidered and moved Dwight back up to his rightful position of just behind Kareem & Shaq. You have to consider that he is both a paint/efg% monster with elite defense AND board-lord. And he can play the 4 or the 5. He helps you in every facet of the game and is worthy of the top 3 ranking in my book. This was absolutely the right pick, jp, and was the steal of the draft when you took him.
8. samuelyork93 - John Stockton - I don't have this guy ranked specifically, as I quit ranking at 15. I just had him graded as mid-late 1st, which could mean 12-24. I had somewhat hoped he'd fall to me at 23, as with this one single pick, you don't have to worry about grabbing guys with low ast% at other positions. He also gives you close to 20% usage with at worst mid 50s efg% and even up to 60% in some seasons while always above 60 defense - some years 80! Him falling was clearly a pipe-dream haha!
9. gerryred - David Robinson - I had Admiral ranked 11th on my board but saw him anywhere from 8-15 as a great place. Top notch D, solid boards, always at least tier 3 usage with a few nice efg% seasons and a couple of others that won't hurt you.
10. dskantor - Moses Malone - I had Moses just above the Admiral. More minutes, more boards... less defense... efg% roughly the same but maybe a little worse in his best seasons. Easier to build around, as he can go at the 4 or the 5. Splitting hairs between them.
11. pexetera - Charles Barkley - Kind of ****** at myself for trading back because I could have had Chuck. He's going to be insane in this format. His below average (and bad a couple of seasons) defense is almost completely negated by the efg%/usg%/paint%/fouled% combo and the advantage on the boards he gives at the 3 for the seasons you can use him there (crazy good season at the 4 as well). He's my all-time favorite player and a fantastic piece to build around. I had him 7, and with better D I would have him at 4 above the Mailman.
12. dbkc - James Harden - So I take it Harden does poorly in draft leagues? I would never have thunk it. I had him 9 here. The guy has a solid amount of minutes, great boards and assists for a 2 (can even play at the 1), tons of threes, solid efg% for the usage he has (made better by the drafting 5 thing), great fouled%, *choking as I say this* really good defense most seasons... what's not to like? Oh yeah, turnovers. I still think he's one of the easier guys to build around in this format.
13. ysw128 - Deandre Jordan - I had Deandre as a mid-late 1st grade. Superb rebounding, defense, and efg%. Too bad he has low usg and not a 3k+ minute guy or he'd be a ******* monster here.
14. pharrop - Larry Bird - This is exactly where I had Bird, but I think anything between 5-20 would have been a great value for him. He has 2 elite seasons and easily 3 more great seasons. Gives you a nice usg%/efg%/ast%/def combo with plenty of dreb% for a 3 (or a 2 some seasons if you like).
15. robusk - Artis Gilmore - To me, this is the steal of the draft thus far. I had Gilmore 8. Most of the best seasons are tier 3 usg% (with a couple high tier 2), top notch efg%, good to great defense, and a board lord. Oh and a metric ****-ton of minutes. Once again, when you are able to get a board lord that is also a killer paint/efg%/usg% dude, he has absurdly high value in my book. Turnovers, fouls, and positional flexibility might drop him a bit in the evaluation process, but to me, those positives far outweigh the negatives.
