yeah there's tons of footage of him (cousy) doing pretty great stuff - the one handed thing is overstated/he's ******* around running out the clock if it's what I think it is - but also, no, you're right he couldn't hang in today's game athletically
on the other hand can we get today's players to play in shoes with cardboard soles (Chucks) and play 45 minutes a night at a pace that is like 30% higher than they play now?
what I feel is best summed up thus - if the 1987 Lakers played the 73 win Warriors a very spindly, long limbed fellow, 8 time all defense and 1 time DPOY player to be named later would either foul out in 5 minutes or devour Steph Curry's soul depending entirely on which era's rules were being enforced - if we're playing by 1987 rules this New Mexico alumnus eats Steph's lunch, drinks his milkshake and sends him home to cry to mommy
given time to adapt Steph absolutely would but so too would many of the dudes from yesteryear vice versa
give many of the players of yesteryear the advantages in nutrition, training, health medicine, and equipment enjoyed by today's players and they would be just fine - still ain't no one jumping higher than the Skywalker to this day and human evolution doesnt happen that quick in any event
