be prepared for some crazy **** but eventually if you stay with it very worth it

also I guess that was Don Van Vliet, totally different guy - my bad
I do play avant garde jazz so that won't be an issue.
What kind of avant garde jazz are we talking about here? Probably my favorite band is Medeski Martin and Wood, who often get slapped with that designation.
Actual avant garde jazz. Think Ornette Coleman, later Charles Mingus, and musicians you'd pretty much only know if you were a jazz musician
I am not a jazz musician and I know both of them and have some of their their albums (two for Mingus and the Ken Burns collection for Coleman). I just think classification is not ubiquitous and I was trying to get a baseline for your particular reference.
I'm so glad. Certainly don't mean to be a snob. I thought you might know Ornette and Mingus. As for what I do in avant garde jazz, those are pretty accurate stylistic references. Didn't want to get too esoteric on you but most people don't have a clue about this stuff.
I am a big fan of the keys, so Sun Ra was always my guy.
I just died and went to heaven and you just became my favorite person on this board.

I will officially never say anything about your projections ever again

Also I'm naming one of my teams Space Is The Place in your honor.

I’m a big jazz fan too. More in to CTI records and Chick Corea and Blue Note records and Madlib (as a crate digger and as Yesterday’s New Quintet) but if I’m uh...on a trip then I enjoy the avant garde stuff too

Very Cool. I got to do a hit with Patitucci, Marienthal and Joey DeFrancesco back in the day. Thank god we didn't play Spain or Got A Match or I would have been toast.

That’s awesome. What do you play?

Keys. I mostly write and produce now, but did a lot of touring before I had kids. I wrote and produced a song for Wayman Tisdale back in the day when he played for Phoenix, to bring it full circle back to basketball. Super nice guy. Passed away too soon.
