Go Carolina! Topic

OK, the Red Wings can avoid execution.

Carolina is staggering, holding down the final playoff spot. It's hard to separate if the true problem is Petr Mrazek or defensive injuries but an entire season is going to be lost.

It look as if the Canes gave a two-year contract to the wrong goalie on their 2018-19 roster.

No. It wouldn't be right to see him in any other NHL uniform than the Rangers. He should take his HOF place beside the likes of Mike Richter.

He ain't winning a Cup with the Rangers, time to pull a Ray Bourque, pluswhise the Rangers are going with the Czar, Shesty!

The Canes have fallen to 10th place. The only good thing is that they have a game or two in hand from most of the teams bunched around the 70-75 point mark.

You know your season is over when the New York Rangers pass you in the standings.

Carolina's best goalie this season drives a Zamboni for a living. See you next year.

Apparently, the NHL wants to make some money with a silly playoff scheme. The plan calls for #6 Carolina to meet #11 New York (there's only one NY team...the Islanders are nothing more than a zit on the *** of society.)

What excitement. I can hardly wait.

The Islanders have won the exact same number of Cups as the Rangers. There was a span of more than a decade where the Islanders had won 1 more Cup than the Rangers, despite the Rangers having a 46-year head start.

The Whale suck too. Always have, always will.

Hey! The Whale rule! Ok, as a franchise they sucked, but the unis were cool!

The Islanders belonged at Nassau Colisseum, a good place to get VD.

I didn't have much hope for the playoffs once Carolina had goalie problems again. Perhaps they should invest some money in that area because, otherwise, the team is really solid.

At least we beat Boston...something that was always the main focus for those of us who trace our roots back to the Hartford era. That's really what we care about. See you next season.

It looks like Carolina is going to have another great regular season...and it looks like they are outclassed by mighty Boston. Anything less than a conference finals matchup against the Bruins would be a disappointment but I can't see a way past that juggernaut. You never know, maybe another team will knock the Bruins out so that the Canes don't have to mess with them...but, then again, beating Boston as the legacy Hartford franchise is always heartwarming to those of us who have been fans since the New England Whalers days.

Pucky the Whale will see you in the playoffs.

First round down and New Jersey and the Rangers are going to a 7th game. Don't really have a preference as to which team I'd rather face in the quarters.

Also, Florida and Boston are going the distance. In that one, I certainly do have a preference...

Looks like you got your wish up in Boston. Oh how the mighty crumbled yesterday. As for the Devils vs, Rangers, I'm hoping for a long arduous tie with many, many injuries to their respective players - maybe that's just the Philadelphian in me talking.

Yeah, with Boston laying an egg (unbelievable how a team so dominant in the regular season just falls apart when the games really matter,) Carolina has the expectation of making it to the Stanley Cup. We'll see if they can live up to it. So far, so good.

Half way there. The conference finals was where this team should have advanced to...but against Boston rather than the winner of Toronto/Florida. We'll have home ice, so I really don't care which team we play. Carolina is in very good form with some decent offense. #31 will be the key. If Anderson keeps steady, we might go a long way.
