Yeah, of course things could be better. As I said, that should always be our goal. I just don't see the evidence that the system is broken. I honestly don't think the evidence exists. The evidence actually speaks to the contrary. A large group on the left claim that our law enforcement is inherently evil and racist. If you are going to make a claim like that, you need to bring the evidence.
I also haven't heard republican leadership disagree with us. Part of Trump's platform was criminal justice reform.
I have zero interest in debating a semantic argument about whether the police system is "broken". I care more about specific solutions and policies. And no, I'm not ACAB. I don't think law enforcement is
inherently racist. I think reform can be effective.
He may say it's part of his platform, but as far as I am aware, he's passed one CJR bill (which, from what I have read, was good). Not enough. If you want, you can point me to the Republican CJR platform, specifically on policing, and compare it to the Democrat one.
