Perfect for what? Disrespect!
Why can't the other 160+ hours every week be used?
Not sure about you, but I can't think of a single employer I ever had that would have tolerated me protesting on their time. Why should the NFL and/or NBA?
If players plan a protest and alert the media, they will have at least as much coverage as they do at games, when their focus should be on doing their jobs.
Once again, what you see as disrespect may not be intended as disrespect by the protester. I don't know why that is so hard for some people to understand.

Because they don't want to accept it.

Can't handle it.
Disturbs their preconceptions and bias.

So they burn down their neighborhoods.

Kap was not very good his last year in the league. His team went, what, like 3-13? I feel like activists conveniently forget that fact

Laugh at Ben Shapiro all you want but this is nowhere close to as bad as making threats (charges of racism, which in 2020 is about the worst thing you can call a person) against a respected, tenured professor who had the gall to treat everyone in his class equally. Reputation ruined, under police protection because a few SJW's can't handle any reaction that does not conform exactly to their narrative.
Didn’t you start your own (another) thread where you can whine about this?

Kaep was still good enough to be a QB. That 3-13 season wasn't all on him. I'm not one of the people who believe that the NFL should apologize or force him back in, but he would have been on an NFL roster if not for extraneous circumstances.

what, exactly, does that have to do with his protest, and whether or not he was disrespecting the flag, the country or the military?

We did this years ago. His teammates and his table etc. Did the narrative change?

Does anybody care to post the ORIGINAL story from the day it happened and his first statements?

just curious, guitarguy..are you saying Kaep was not very good so that takes away from the validity of his protest??

What I am saying is he wasn't exactly railroaded out of the league. Have you been listening to all these people who want to pressure the NFL to put him on a roster.

I will agree with Tang that he was good enough back in 2016 that he likely wouldve stayed in the league as someone's backup, if not for his baggage (baggage in that 50% of NFL fans are conservatives who will not be happy if their team signs Kap). If he was winning a lot of games you can bet someone would have signed him.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick says he refused to stand during the national anthem Friday because of his views on the country’s treatment of racial minorities.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Mediaafter Friday’s game. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

The 49ers acknowledged in a statement that Kaepernick sat on the team’s bench during the national anthem before their game against the Green Bay Packers.

Matt Schaub, Jeff Driskel, Luke Falk, Sean Mannion and David Blough STARTED games last year. Josh freaking McCown still had a job last season. Kap should EASILY have a job.

They ran him out because he PEACEFULLY took a knee for the magic song.

It was, and still is, disgusting how he was railroaded. If you knew, read and supported the ACTUAL constitution you would have DEFENDED him in the first place but neanderthals like allMOUTH think a song and a piece of cloth are the be-all, end-all when it comes to those silly human rights.

You can disagree with what he said and did all you want, but do you have the BALLS to stand up for his right to do it?

And spare me the “workplace” bullshit. The farmhands aren’t going to take anymore from their white billionaire masters. They make up 70 plus percent of the league and now WILL realize that power.

Right, but how good he is or was has nothing to do with his protest. I agree that he was probably not good enough to be a starting QB in the league, but he was certainly good enough to be a backup. I also agree that owners did not want to sign him, and pay him what it would take to sign him when he would bring controversy with him. Is that right? Probably not, but that's what it is.

How much money does he have?
